Q: What typically fits inside this Bottega Veneta Intrecciato crossbody?
A: With approx. Height 25 cm, Width 28 cm and Depth 7 cm, it comfortably carries a large smartphone (including most Pro/Max models), a continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, a small cosmetics pouch, an A5 notebook/diary and a compact water bottle. Capacity can vary slightly depending on how you organise your items; feel free to ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or laptop?
A: Standard tablets such as an iPad, iPad Air or 11-inch iPad Pro generally fit. A 13-inch laptop typically does not due to the 28 cm width and zip opening. Compare your device’s dimensions with the Measurements shown or ask us to perform a quick fit test.

Q: Is the strap adjustable and can I wear it crossbody?
A: Yes—this bag has a single adjustable crossbody strap with an approximate strap drop of 48 cm. It’s designed for crossbody or shoulder wear; on very tall or broad frames it may sit slightly higher. If you’d like us to advise how it will sit on you, just ask and we’ll help.

Q: How secure is the closure and what pockets does it have?
A: It features a zip-top main compartment for good everyday security, plus one exterior pocket for quick-access items. The interior has a brown fabric lining. Layouts can vary slightly by era—our listing photos show the exact configuration of this piece.

Q: What is Bottega Veneta’s Intrecciato leather, and is it durable?
A: Intrecciato is Bottega Veneta’s signature hand‑woven leather technique, created from interlaced leather strips for a supple yet robust finish. It’s durable for daily use, but like all woven leathers it should be kept away from sharp edges or rough surfaces that could snag a strand. With proper care, the weave maintains its structure and develops a refined patina over time.

Q: How should I care for the Intrecciato leather and dark‑tone hardware?
A: Keep leather away from moisture, oils and prolonged sunlight, and be mindful of colour transfer from denim (even though black is more forgiving). Wipe with a soft, dry cloth; use a high‑quality neutral leather conditioner very sparingly and test on a discreet area first. Store lightly stuffed, upright, in a breathable dust bag, and avoid overfilling to preserve the shape and the weave. Hardware can develop light hairline scratches with normal use—avoid abrasive surfaces and protect it during storage.

Q: Will the weave loosen or show imprints from the strap over time?
A: Normal use won’t cause the weave to unravel, but repeated pressure or snagging can lift individual strands. To minimise imprints, don’t overstuff the bag and place a soft cloth between the strap and leather when storing. Keeping the bag lightly padded helps the weave stay smooth.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic Bottega Veneta bags typically feature a “BOTTEGA VENETA” heat‑stamp with “Made in Italy.” Many pieces include a small serial/production code, often on a leather tab or along an interior seam; placement and format can vary by era. We’re happy to share close‑up photos and help interpret the markings for this exact vintage piece.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: This item is delivered with no accessories (e.g., no dust bag or box). Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, serial/production codes and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell and can provide additional photos or details on request.

Q: Is this Intrecciato crossbody still produced, and can Bottega Veneta repair it?
A: Intrecciato remains a core Bottega Veneta signature, though specific vintage crossbody models like this one are generally discontinued. Bottega Veneta boutiques may offer repairs subject to assessment and parts availability; costs and lead times vary by region.
