Bottega VenetaPadded Maria Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Bottega Veneta Padded Maria Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 30 x 28 x 9 cm, this bag is well suited to daily essentials such as a phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, and a small cosmetics pouch. It may also fit other slim items depending on how you pack, but it is not designed as a laptop bag. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for the most accurate size guide.

Q: Can this bag be worn comfortably on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This style features a single flat shoulder strap with an approximate drop of 19 cm, making it suitable for shoulder carry. It is best suited to under-arm or shoulder wear rather than crossbody use.

Q: Is this the kind of bag that works for both day and evening use?
A: Yes. The padded leather construction, dark brown colour, and gold-tone hardware give it a refined look that can work well for everyday wear as well as smarter occasions. It is a versatile vintage shoulder bag with a soft, elevated feel.

Q: What is the condition of this particular item?
A: This bag is listed in Very Good Condition. The exterior and interior both show light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review the product images carefully for the best visual representation of its current condition.

Q: Does this bag come with any extras?
A: Yes. According to the product information, this item includes a dust bag. If anything else is included, it will be stated in the product information on this page.

Q: Is this bag made in Italy?
A: Yes. The product data states that this piece was made in Italy, which is consistent with Bottega Veneta’s heritage in luxury leather craftsmanship.

Q: How should I care for padded leather on a vintage Bottega Veneta bag?
A: We recommend gentle handling. Wipe the leather with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, avoid harsh cleaners, and keep it away from prolonged sunlight, heat, and excess moisture. To help preserve the padded shape, store it in its dust bag and avoid overfilling it when not in use.

Q: Will the bag keep its shape over time?
A: Padded leather bags generally have a softer structure than rigid handbags, so a natural, relaxed silhouette is part of the design. To maintain its form as well as possible, avoid overstuffing and store it carefully with light shaping support inside when not in use.

Q: How can I tell whether the size is right for me?
A: A good way to judge this is to compare the listed measurements with a bag you already use and love. This bag measures approximately 30 cm wide, 28 cm high, and 9 cm deep, so it offers practical space while still keeping a shoulder-bag profile.

Q: Is this an authentic vintage Bottega Veneta bag?
A: Yes. A Retro Tale specialises in authentic luxury vintage accessories, and this item has been vetted before being offered for sale. As with all vintage designer bags, signs of age and wear can appear, but authenticity and condition are assessed separately.
