CartierMust Ronde 27mm Watch

Q: What size does this Cartier Must Ronde wear like?
A: With a 27 mm case, this watch has a refined vintage dress-watch profile. It wears smaller than many modern watches, making it an elegant choice if you prefer classic proportions and a discreet fit on the wrist.

Q: Is this watch quartz or mechanical?
A: This model is a quartz watch, so it is battery powered rather than hand-wound or automatic. Quartz movements are appreciated for their ease of use and everyday convenience.

Q: What are the main design features of this watch?
A: This piece features a gold-plated vermeil case, a cream dial with Roman numerals, a brown leather strap with pin buckle closure, and Cartier’s signature blue cabochon crown. Its round case and traditional dial details give it a timeless vintage Cartier look.

Q: Is this a solid gold watch?
A: No. According to the product information, the case is gold-plated vermeil rather than solid gold. Vermeil is a precious metal finish traditionally associated with many vintage Must de Cartier watches and offers the warm look of gold with a lighter feel and price point than solid gold.

Q: Can the strap be replaced?
A: Yes, the leather strap can generally be replaced when needed. As this is a vintage Cartier model, we recommend having any strap change carried out by a professional watch specialist to ensure the best fit and to protect the case and lugs during installation.

Q: Is this watch suitable for water exposure?
A: We do not recommend exposing vintage watches to water. Even if a model was originally produced with water-resistance standards, seals age over time, so it is best to avoid showering, swimming, or submerging the watch unless it has been recently pressure tested by a qualified watchmaker.

Q: How often will a quartz Cartier need a battery change or service?
A: Quartz watches typically need periodic battery replacement, and Cartier advises professional battery servicing together with seal checks. As with any vintage watch, routine maintenance helps preserve performance and reduces the risk of moisture entering the case.

Q: What is the condition of this specific watch?
A: This watch is described as being in very good external condition, with scratches on the case and wear on the strap. The inside shows scratches and signs of wear, while the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. These signs are consistent with careful vintage use.

Q: What is included with the watch?
A: This watch comes with no accessories. Everything included with the item is listed in the product information, so if you do not see a box, papers, or other extras mentioned there, they are not included with this piece.

Q: How do you authenticate this watch?
A: At A Retro Tale, all items are carefully reviewed for authenticity by specialists with experience in luxury vintage accessories and watches. This includes assessing the overall construction, details, markings, and design characteristics expected for the model and reference.
