CartierTank Francaise 20mm Ref 2384 Certificate Watch

Q: What is the Cartier Tank Française Ref. 2384 20mm?
A: It’s a Swiss‑made Cartier Tank Française in stainless steel with a petite 20mm case, a reliable quartz movement, a rare pink dial, a pink cabochon crown stone, and a stainless‑steel deployant clasp. It offers classic Cartier elegance in a refined, everyday size.

Q: What movement does it use and how long does the battery last?
A: The watch is powered by a Swiss quartz movement. Typical battery life is around 2–3 years depending on use and storage. The exact cell type can vary—please have a professional watchmaker confirm and replace the battery to avoid damage.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and can I wear it in the shower or while swimming?
A: Many Tank Française quartz models were originally rated for light water resistance (often around 30 metres). As a vintage watch, water resistance cannot be guaranteed without recent servicing and pressure testing. Treat it as splash‑resistant at best: avoid swimming, showering, or submersion, and ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any exposure to moisture.

Q: How do I set the time on this watch?
A: Gently pull the crown out one click, turn it to set the hands to the correct time, then press the crown back in firmly. If the watch has stopped, fit a fresh battery before setting the time. Avoid forcing the crown and always work on a clean, soft surface.

Q: Will it fit my wrist, and can the bracelet be resized?
A: This bracelet fits a wrist up to approximately 13.75cm. We can size the bracelet down by removing links before shipping. Additional links may be sourced to increase size, subject to availability and potential cost—contact us with your wrist measurement for guidance.

Q: Does this model have a sapphire crystal?
A: Most Cartier Tank Française models feature a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal. Specifics can vary by reference and production run; if you’d like, we can confirm the crystal type on this exact watch.

Q: What is the pink cabochon and will the colours fade?
A: The crown is set with a pink cabochon stone, and this piece features a rare pink dial. Colours are generally stable, but avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, and prolonged strong UV exposure to keep the dial and cabochon looking their best. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth.

Q: How should I clean and care for the stainless‑steel case and bracelet?
A: Use a soft microfiber cloth for routine cleaning. For light grime, a slightly damp cloth with mild soapy water is fine—dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive pads, polishes, alcohol/acetone, and strong detergents. Keep the watch away from strong magnets and store it in a dry place.

Q: Is this watch authentic and what is included?
A: A Retro Tale specialises in authentic luxury vintage accessories and professionally authenticates every item. This watch comes with a certificate and booklet as listed. We also provide a 12‑month mechanical guarantee and secure, insured delivery.

Q: When should I service it, and what maintenance is recommended?
A: Replace the battery every 1–3 years, or sooner if the watch stops. A full service is typically recommended every 5–7 years or if you notice issues (e.g., condensation, erratic timekeeping). Have seals inspected if light water resistance is desired, and always use a qualified watchmaker familiar with Cartier vintage pieces.
