Q: What typically fits inside this Chanel CC Tassel Patent Camera Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 20 x 16 x 5 cm, this compact vintage camera bag is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, cardholder, keys, lipstick and a few small personal items. Bulkier pieces, such as a long wallet or larger sunglasses case, may be a tight fit.

Q: Can this bag be worn crossbody?
A: The strap measurement is 45 cm, so this style is generally best suited to shoulder wear. Depending on your height and preferred fit, it may sit too short for a traditional long crossbody look, so we recommend comparing the strap measurement with a bag you already own.

Q: What pockets and compartments does it have?
A: This bag features an exterior slip pocket, a black leather-lined interior, and one internal zip pocket. The top zip closure with tassel pull helps keep your essentials secure while still being easy to access.

Q: What does the serial number indicate?
A: The serial number begins with 1, which is consistent with Chanel bags produced around 1989 to 1991. As with vintage Chanel pieces generally, the serial number helps date the bag, but authentication should always take the full construction, materials and hardware into account as well.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: This piece is listed in Very Good Condition. The exterior and interior both show light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches, which is typical and expected for a vintage Chanel bag of this age.

Q: Is patent leather durable, and how should I care for it?
A: Patent leather has a glossy finish and can be very striking, but it is more delicate than it may appear. It is best cared for with a soft cloth, while avoiding harsh cleaning products, prolonged sunlight, excess moisture and contact with materials that may cause colour transfer. When stored, keep it upright and avoid pressing other items against the patent surface.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This bag comes with a serial number tag. Everything included with the item is shown in the product information; if something is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The country of origin label states France, which is consistent with many vintage Chanel bags from this period.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Chanel bag like this one?
A: Authenticating a vintage Chanel bag involves reviewing the serial sticker format for the era, the quality of the quilting and stitching, the construction of the hardware, the interior stamp, and the overall craftsmanship. At A Retro Tale, every item is carefully vetted for authenticity before being offered for sale.
