Q: What size is this Chanel Classic Caviar Wallet on Chain Bag?
A: This bag measures 19 cm wide, 12.5 cm high and 4 cm deep. It is a compact design for carrying essentials rather than the contents of a full-sized handbag.

Q: What typically fits inside, and will it hold my phone?
A: A Classic Wallet on Chain typically accommodates cards, cash, a phone and a few small essentials, such as a lipstick or slim keys. Phone fit depends on the handset and case, so compare their dimensions with the bag’s measurements, allowing for the smaller usable interior. Bulky keys, sunglasses cases and a separate wallet can limit space. Avoid overfilling or forcing the closure.

Q: Can this bag be worn crossbody?
A: The Classic Wallet on Chain is designed for hands-free crossbody wear and can also be worn over the shoulder. How it sits will depend on your height and body shape. The listed strap measurement for this piece is 63 cm; please ask for confirmation of how it was measured if the wearing length is important to you.

Q: What is caviar leather?
A: Caviar is the name commonly used for Chanel’s textured, grained calfskin leather. Its pebbled surface offers a different finish from smooth lambskin, but it still requires careful handling and protection from abrasion and moisture. This piece is listed as the Classic Caviar model in black.

Q: What condition is this pre-owned bag in?
A: This piece is in Very Good Condition. Both the exterior and interior show light traces of use. The hardware remains shiny with light scratches, so some signs of previous wear should be expected.

Q: Does the Wallet on Chain replace a separate wallet?
A: The Classic WOC typically has built-in card slots and compartments for organising cards and cash, helping you avoid carrying a separate wallet. Interior layouts can vary between versions, so refer to this item’s photographs to check its exact arrangement.

Q: Does this bag come with a box, dust bag or authenticity card?
A: The product information lists a serial number tag. A box, dust bag and authenticity card are not listed, so please do not assume they are included. Contact A Retro Tale if you need confirmation before purchasing.

Q: How should I clean and store this Chanel Wallet on Chain?
A: Gently wipe it with a soft cloth and avoid cleaning or conditioning products that could alter the leather’s finish. Protect it from prolonged sunlight and moisture; if it gets wet, carefully dab it with an absorbent, lint-free cloth. Store it upright in a suitable protective pouch and wrap the chain in tissue paper to prevent it pressing against the leather.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The country of origin listed for this specific piece is France.
