ChanelGST Grand Shopping Tote Bag

Q: What size is the Chanel GST Grand Shopping Tote?
A: This bag measures approximately 33 x 25 x 13.5 cm, making it a roomy everyday tote. It is known for its structured silhouette and practical capacity, while still feeling polished and classic on the shoulder.

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel GST?
A: The GST is designed to hold daily essentials comfortably, such as a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses case, cosmetics pouch, notebook and small water bottle. This piece also has a compartmented interior, which helps keep items organised. A slim 13-inch laptop or tablet may fit depending on its exact dimensions and case, but we recommend comparing your device to the measurements listed on this page.

Q: Is this bag comfortable to carry on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This item has dual interwoven chain and leather shoulder straps with an approximate strap drop of 24 cm, which is generally comfortable for shoulder wear. It should sit well under light to medium layers, though it may feel a little snug over bulkier coats.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: This Chanel GST features a tonal fabric lining with three compartments and two pockets, offering more organisation than many open totes. The open top makes access easy, while the divided interior helps separate everyday essentials.

Q: Is the Chanel GST discontinued?
A: Yes, the Grand Shopping Tote is a discontinued Chanel style, which is one reason it remains so sought after on the pre-owned market. Many collectors love it for combining the classic Chanel look with a spacious, practical tote format.

Q: What does the serial number tell me about this bag?
A: The serial number on this item is 10549801, and 10-series Chanel numbers are generally associated with production around 2005 to 2006. As with all Chanel bags, the serial number helps indicate the production period, but authentication should always consider the full construction, materials, hardware and finishing details as well.

Q: What condition details should I know about this specific item?
A: This bag is listed in good condition overall. The exterior shows scuffing on the corners, the interior has stains, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Included product information consists of a dust bag, authenticity card and serial number.

Q: How should I care for white quilted leather on a vintage Chanel bag?
A: White leather can show colour transfer and marks more easily than darker shades, so extra care is recommended. Store the bag in its dust bag, avoid prolonged contact with dark denim or heavily dyed fabrics, keep it away from direct sunlight and humidity, and gently wipe surface dirt with a soft dry cloth after use. For deeper cleaning or stain removal, professional leather care is the safest option.
