Q: What do the numbers 62/12/125 mean on this pair?
A: They are the frame measurements in millimetres: lens width 62 mm, bridge width 12 mm, and temple (arm) length 125 mm. These figures help you gauge fit against a pair you already own.

Q: Do the lenses offer UV protection, and are they polarised?
A: Chanel sunglasses are designed with UV-protective lenses, and many current styles offer UV400 protection. Some Chanel models use polarised lenses, but this specific pair features gradient orange lenses and polarisation is not specified. An easy at‑home check for polarisation is to look at a phone or laptop screen at different angles; a polarised lens typically causes the screen to darken at a certain angle.

Q: Can I fit prescription lenses into these frames?
A: In most cases, yes. A qualified optician can usually fit prescription sun lenses (including gradient or polarised options) into metal frames like these, subject to the lens shape and your prescription. We recommend consulting a trusted optician for availability and suitability.

Q: How can I tell if Chanel sunglasses are authentic?
A: Authentic Chanel eyewear typically shows the model code, colour code and size on the inner temple, alongside Chanel signatures and a country-of‑origin stamp. Depending on the production year, some lenses may feature a subtle etched logo or serial code, while earlier or later vintages may not. A Retro Tale conducts rigorous multi‑point authentication on every piece for your peace of mind.

Q: How should I clean and care for gradient lenses and the frame?
A: Rinse with lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap, then dry with a clean microfibre cloth. Never use alcohol, solvents, paper tissues or abrasive cloths. Avoid placing lenses face‑down, do not wear the glasses on top of your head, and store them in their case at moderate room temperatures, away from heat or extreme cold.

Q: Are gradient lenses suitable for driving?
A: Gradient tints are popular for daytime driving because the upper tint helps with glare while the lower area stays lighter for the dashboard. However, all sunglasses have limitations: they are not for looking directly at the sun and are not suitable for night driving. If you require a specific lens category for driving conditions, please consult an optician.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under product information. For this piece, a box is included. If an item such as a case or cloth is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: Can the fit be adjusted?
A: Yes. Metal frames generally allow for minor adjustments to nose pads and temple arms. For best results and to avoid damage, have adjustments done by a professional optician.

Q: Where are these made?
A: This pair is stamped Made in Italy. Chanel eyewear production location can vary by model and season, but Italy is common for Chanel sunglasses.

Q: What if the lenses get scratched or I need replacements or repairs?
A: Light scratches cannot usually be polished out of coated lenses, but an optician can often replace the lenses. For repairs or complex work, visit a trusted optician; Chanel boutiques may also advise on available services for current-season frames.
