Christian DiorStreet Chic Columbus Bag

Q: What fits inside the Christian Dior Street Chic Columbus Bag?
A: With measurements of approximately 31 x 14 x 13 cm, this bag is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, small wallet, keys, sunglasses, lipstick, and a few compact items. It is a structured shoulder bag rather than a large carryall, so it will not suit bulkier items such as a laptop or larger water bottle.

Q: Can this bag be worn comfortably on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This style is designed as a shoulder bag and this piece has a single adjustable strap with an approximate drop of 24 cm. That makes it well suited to shoulder wear, especially if you prefer a close, under-arm fit.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: This bag has a magnetic flap closure, which keeps everyday essentials covered while still allowing easy access. It is practical for regular use, though as with most magnetic flap bags, very small valuables are best kept in the internal zip pocket for extra security.

Q: Does the bag have any interior pockets or compartments?
A: Yes. The interior is lined in black fabric and includes one internal zip pocket. This is useful for smaller items you may want to separate, such as cards, keys, or lip balm.

Q: Is this a vintage Dior bag?
A: Yes. The Street Chic Columbus is a vintage Dior design from the early 2000s era, a period especially popular with collectors of Dior’s monogram canvas shoulder bags. This piece reflects that archive look with Dior Oblique canvas, brown leather trim, and gold-tone hardware.

Q: What condition is this particular bag in?
A: It is listed in Very Good condition. There is minor wear on the canvas edges, light scratches on the leather, light traces of use inside, and scratches and tarnishing to the hardware. As with any vintage piece, these signs of wear are part of its pre-owned character and are worth reviewing in the photos.

Q: Does this bag come with any extra items or detachable pouches?
A: No additional items are listed with this piece. Everything included is shown in the product information, and this bag is noted as having no extra items included. Some Street Chic Columbus versions on the resale market appear with removable pouches, but they are not included with this specific bag.

Q: How should I care for Dior Oblique canvas and the leather trim?
A: Gentle care is best. Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to wipe the canvas, and avoid over-wetting, rubbing aggressively, or using harsh cleaners. The leather trim should be kept away from excess moisture, oils, and prolonged direct sunlight. When not in use, store the bag lightly filled in a breathable dust bag to help maintain its shape.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The country of origin label states Italy. That is consistent with many Dior bags from this period and is part of the overall product information for this piece.

Q: How do you authenticate this Dior bag?
A: At A Retro Tale, authenticity is checked through a multi-point review of the materials, construction, stitching, hardware, lining, branding details, and overall craftsmanship. Vintage Dior pieces can vary by year and model, so authentication is based on the full combination of details rather than on one feature alone.
