FredForce 10 Bracelet in Black Titanium and Diamonds

Q: How do I choose the right size for a Fred Force 10 bracelet?
A: FRED bracelet sizes correspond to your wrist circumference in centimetres. Measure around your wrist at the wrist bone, then select the matching size; if you are between two sizes, pick the smaller for a snug fit or the larger for a looser feel. FRED’s size guide takes the buckle and cable into account for the final fit.

Q: Will this specific piece fit me?
A: This bracelet is configured to fit an 18 cm wrist or smaller. If your wrist is noticeably under 18 cm and you prefer a close fit, you can later purchase a shorter Force 10 cable in the same model size to adjust the fit.

Q: Are the cable and buckle interchangeable?
A: Yes. The Force 10 system is designed so you can swap cable colours and materials to suit your style. Always match the model size of the buckle and cable (for example, a Large-model buckle must be paired with Large-model cables). Double‑turn cables are also available in specific model sizes.

Q: Can I change the cable myself?
A: Many owners do. The shackle‑style clasp and finished end caps are designed for straightforward cable changes. If you’re unfamiliar, ask a jeweller for assistance to avoid forcing or over‑tightening the hardware and to protect the finish.

Q: Can I wear it in the shower, pool or sea?
A: Despite its nautical inspiration, FRED advises avoiding contact with water—especially salt water—as well as cosmetics, perfumes and detergents. Remove the bracelet for sport or manual work. For occasional cleaning, you may briefly bathe it in lukewarm water with a neutral soap, rinse, and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

Q: What materials is this model made from?
A: This version features a black titanium shackle set with black diamonds, paired with a black braided steel cable. The black cable typically has stainless‑steel end caps with a black PVD finish, complementing the overall look.

Q: Is the black finish scratch‑proof?
A: The black titanium finish used on this model is typically an ADLC‑type treatment that is highly hard‑wearing and scratch‑resistant, but it isn’t completely scratch‑proof. Avoid hard knocks and abrasion to preserve the uniform colour and surface.

Q: Will the black cable’s colour change over time?
A: Coloured steel cables can show natural colour change and slight surface slip with wear. This is a normal, irreversible ageing of the finish and does not affect function. Storing the bracelet separately helps minimise friction and preserve the look.

Q: How should I care for and store it?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wear. When deeper cleaning is needed, use only neutral pH soapy water, rinse, and dry completely. Avoid contact with chemicals and extreme heat. Store the bracelet in its box or a soft pouch to protect it from scratches.

Q: What is included and how do you ensure authenticity?
A: This item comes with its box. Every piece at A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated; genuine FRED jewellery carries appropriate hallmarks and engraved identifiers consistent with the brand’s standards.
