Q: Is the Louis Vuitton Favorite MM in Damier Ebene still in production?
A: No. The canvas Favorite MM was discontinued and is now available primarily on the pre‑loved market. Louis Vuitton currently offers a different “Favorite” design in leather with an adjustable strap, which is not the same as this Damier Ebene canvas version.

Q: What are the measurements and what typically fits inside?
A: Approx. 25 × 17 × 4 cm (about 9.8 × 6.7 × 1.6 in). It comfortably holds a large smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, and a few small cosmetics. A full‑size continental wallet can fit but will leave little room for extras; many owners prefer a compact wallet for best use of space.

Q: How can I wear this bag?
A: Three ways: as a clutch, on the short chain for hand/short‑shoulder carry, or cross‑body with the long leather strap. Both the chain and strap are detachable.

Q: What are the strap drops on this piece?
A: The chain drop is approximately 19 cm (about 7.5 in) and the leather strap drop is approximately 55 cm (about 21.5 in), suitable for most cross‑body carries. Actual drop can vary slightly by how the bag is packed.

Q: Is the long strap adjustable?
A: The original leather cross‑body strap for the canvas Favorite MM is a fixed length (non‑adjustable). If you prefer a longer or adjustable drop, many owners use an alternative Louis Vuitton strap or a quality third‑party strap.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag closes with a magnetic flap and metal bar. It stays secure under normal use; avoid overfilling, which can weaken the magnetic hold. For commuting or travel, keep valuables in a small zip pouch inside for added security.

Q: What does the date code FL0168 mean on this bag?
A: For bags from this era, the first and third digits indicate the production week and the second and fourth digits indicate the year—so FL0168 corresponds to week 06 of 2018. The letters refer to the manufacturing country and should match the “Made in” stamp on the bag. Note that date codes are not unique serial numbers and, since 2021, Louis Vuitton has moved to embedded microchips on new items.

Q: How do I care for Damier Ebene coated canvas and the hardware?
A: Wipe the canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild soapy water if needed; avoid harsh chemicals or alcohol‑based products. Dry gently and store the bag lightly stuffed in a breathable pouch, away from heat and direct sunlight. Hardware can be buffed lightly with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid prolonged contact with dark denim or abrasive surfaces.

Q: What is included with this specific item?
A: This piece comes with a detachable shoulder strap, receipt, and ribbon. If an accessory isn’t listed here, it is not included.

Q: What is the condition of this pre‑owned bag?
A: Overall Very Good. Exterior shows light scuffing on corners and gentle signs of use; interior has some marks and stains and a slight vintage odour; hardware shows surface scratches. Please review the photos for close‑ups or contact us for additional details.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point checks by our in‑house experts, including materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and date code review aligned with era and model. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece and are happy to provide further information on request.
