Its slim profile makes it elegant for everyday use, but it is not designed as a roomy tote.

Q: What is the condition of this specific bag?

A: No, this item comes with no accessories. Everything included with the purchase is shown in the product information; if an item is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: What does the code SP0059 indicate?
A: The code SP0059 indicates production in France, and it is commonly read as dating to 2009. As with vintage Louis Vuitton pieces, a code helps support age and origin, but authentication should always consider the full item, including materials, construction, hardware, and overall details.

Q: Is Damier Ebene canvas durable for everyday use?
A: Yes, Damier Ebene coated canvas is widely appreciated for everyday practicality. It is known for being structured, relatively resistant to light moisture, and easier to maintain than many delicate leathers. Even so, it should still be protected from excessive heat, heavy rain, rough abrasion, and harsh cleaning products.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene bag?
A: For regular care, gently wipe the canvas with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid soaking the material. Take extra care around the leather trim and strap, especially since this bag already shows visible wear there. When not in use, store it in a cool, dry place and avoid overfilling so the shape stays well preserved.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Louis Vuitton bag like this?
A: Authentication should never rely on one detail alone. Experts assess the overall construction, canvas, stitching, hardware, lining, date code, and finishing details together. At A Retro Tale, all items are carefully vetted for authenticity before being offered for sale.
