Q: What are the measurements of this bag?
A: This bag measures approximately 40 cm wide, 29 cm high and 20 cm deep. The listed handle measurement is 24 cm.

Q: Can the Mahina L be carried on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: The Mahina L is designed for carrying by its two handles, either in the hand or over the shoulder. Shoulder fit will depend on your build and clothing. No separate crossbody strap is included with this item.

Q: Is this bag suitable for everyday essentials or a laptop?
A: Its generous dimensions offer space for everyday items such as a purse, phone, cosmetics pouch and a small notebook. Laptop fit has not been confirmed for this particular bag: compare your device and sleeve with the listed measurements, allowing for the opening and usable interior space. Avoid overloading it, especially given the documented wear to the leather and handles.

Please note that the majority of our items are vintage and therefore have tales to tell unless stated otherwise. Therefore, please look at pictures, descriptions and measurements provided as they give you the best idea of the story this item has to tell.

* Please note that when you buy a vintage product, the dimensions may vary slightly from a new one depending on previous care and storage.

Q: What is the Louis Vuitton Mahina L Tote Bag made from?
A: The Mahina L is a leather bag distinguished by its perforated Louis Vuitton Monogram pattern, rather than printed coated canvas. This particular bag is black.

Q: What condition is this pre-owned bag in?
A: The overall condition is listed as Very Good. The exterior is graded Good, with worn and peeling leather throughout the bag and worn handles. The interior is graded Very Good, with a vintage smell. The hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please consider these specific signs of wear alongside the overall grade.

Q: Does this bag have any noticeable odour?
A: A vintage smell is noted in the interior condition report. Its intensity is not specified, so contact A Retro Tale before purchasing if you are sensitive to odours. Odour removal cannot be guaranteed.

Q: Does this bag come with a dust bag, box or other accessories?
A: No accessories are included with this item, as stated in the product information. A dust bag, box and separate shoulder strap are therefore not supplied.

Q: How should I care for this vintage Mahina leather bag?
A: Avoid commercial cleaners and contact with oils, perfume, cosmetics or hand sanitiser. Louis Vuitton recommends a soft cloth lightly dampened with water for surface stains on calfskin and cowhide leather; however, because this bag already has peeling leather, avoid rubbing affected areas and seek specialist advice before cleaning or treatment. Store it in a breathable protective bag in a ventilated place, away from heat, and do not over-pack it.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The supplied product information lists France as the country of origin. The recorded serial number is TH0048.
