Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Monogram Carryall Weekend Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 40 × 25 × 22 cm, it’s sized for short trips and gym or overnight use. Expect room for a change of clothes, toiletry pouch, large smartphone, continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses, chargers, an A5 diary, and a small bottle. It also generally accommodates A4 documents/folders and a 13‑inch laptop placed horizontally; slimmer 14–15‑inch devices may fit without a bulky case. Compare your item’s dimensions with our Measurements for the best guidance, or ask us for a tailored fit check on this exact piece.

Q: Will it work as airline cabin baggage?
A: Its dimensions are within the cabin‑friendly range for many airlines when the bag isn’t overfilled. Policies and size limits vary by carrier, so we recommend checking your specific airline’s rules before travelling.

Q: Does it have a shoulder strap? How can it be carried?
A: This Carryall configuration is hand‑carry only with dual rolled leather handles (approx. 11 cm drop). It’s designed for hand or crook‑of‑arm carry rather than crossbody or true shoulder wear. If you prefer shoulder carry, consider using a lightweight organiser to distribute weight and avoid overloading the bag.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the interior layout?
A: The bag features a zip‑top main compartment for everyday security, a brown fabric/canvas lining and an internal slip pocket. This piece also has one external slip pocket for quick‑access items. Please refer to our photos for the exact pocket configuration of this item.

Q: What materials is it made from, and how durable is it?
A: It is crafted from Louis Vuitton’s Monogram coated canvas with natural vachetta leather trim and gold‑tone hardware. The coated canvas is lightweight and highly durable for daily and travel use, while vachetta leather is a natural, untreated calfskin that develops a honey patina over time and is sensitive to water and oils—part of the charm of vintage LV.

Q: How should I care for the coated canvas, vachetta leather and hardware?
A: Keep vachetta away from rain and liquids; if lightly dampened, blot (don’t rub) with a soft cloth and allow to air‑dry away from heat. Wipe coated canvas with a slightly damp, lint‑free cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh cleaners or alcohol‑based products. Store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag; pad handles/hardware to prevent impressions and hairline scratches. Be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim onto light leather.

Q: What does the date code TH0066 mean on this bag?
A: “TH” indicates a French factory, and in the pre‑2007 format the first and third numbers denote the month while the second and fourth denote the year—so “0066” decodes to June 2006, Made in France. Placement of date codes varies by model and can be on or behind an interior pocket or along a seam.

Q: Is the Monogram Carryall Weekend Bag still in production?
A: This travel‑style Carryall in Monogram canvas is considered a discontinued/vintage model. Availability today is via the pre‑loved market; details such as pockets and feet can vary slightly by production year.

Q: What accessories are included with this listing?
A: This specific piece is listed with no accessories. Some Carryall examples originally came with items like a luggage tag, padlock and keys; if an accessory isn’t mentioned under “Accessories,” it isn’t included with this bag. We’re happy to confirm anything you’re unsure about.

Q: How do you ensure authenticity?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, including checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and date code logic relative to the model and era. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell.
