Q: Is this Louis Vuitton Petit Louis Necklace authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What is it made from? Is it real gold?
A: The Petit Louis is part of Louis Vuitton’s fashion jewellery line, typically crafted from gold‑tone plated metal (often a brass base) with a crystal strass accent. It is not solid gold. If you’d like us to confirm the exact metal composition on this piece, please contact us and we’ll check the stamps and provide close‑ups.

Q: What are the measurements and how will it sit when worn?
A: The necklace perimeter is approximately 41.2 cm and adjustable. The charm cluster is about 0.6 cm (height) x 1.1 cm (width) x 0.2 cm (depth). At this length it typically sits at the base of the neck or high collarbone on most wearers; the extender allows small fit adjustments for layering.

Q: How does it fasten and is it adjustable?
A: It features a fine link chain with an adjustable section and a lobster‑clasp closure, making it easy to customise the drop to your neckline.

Q: What design details and hallmarks should I expect?
A: Expect LV Circle and Monogram Flower charms with a small crystal accent on a delicate gold‑tone chain. Louis Vuitton pieces usually carry brand signatures (e.g., LV motif, “Louis Vuitton”) and a country of origin stamp; this necklace is labelled Made in Italy. Our listing photos show any stamps present.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin? Is it nickel‑free?
A: Fashion jewellery alloys may contain nickel. If you have metal sensitivities, consider wearing it over clothing, applying a clear barrier product to contact points, and discontinue wear if irritation occurs. We’re happy to advise further.

Q: Can I wear it in the shower, swimming or while exercising?
A: We recommend keeping it dry and removing it before showering, swimming, workouts or applying perfume, lotions or hand sanitiser. Moisture and chemicals can accelerate wear to gold‑tone plating and may dull crystals over time.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone finish and crystal?
A: After each wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking, ultrasonic cleaners and chemical dips. Store it separately in a pouch or box, away from humidity and direct sunlight, to minimise scratches and preserve the plating and sparkle.

Q: Can it be resized, repaired or replated?
A: A jeweller can often add a short extender, adjust/replace a clasp, or perform careful replating if needed. Any modification may affect originality and resale value; contact us if you’d like recommendations for reputable specialists.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return it?
A: This necklace is in Very Good Condition with light signs of careful wear possible. This listing includes no accessories unless specifically shown or stated. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
