Q: What typically fits inside the Pochette Félicie Empreinte?
A: With approximate dimensions of 21.5 × 12.5 × 3 cm, it’s ideal for essentials: a large smartphone (including most Pro/Max models, though very bulky cases can be snug), the included card holder or a compact wallet, keys, lipstick and a few small cosmetics. Continental (long) wallets and water bottles generally do not fit comfortably. For certainty, compare your items to the Measurements shown for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit an iPhone Pro Max specifically?
A: Yes—most Pro Max‑sized phones fit horizontally. If your case has thick edges or an attached grip, the fit can be tight. We’re happy to perform a tailored fit check for this exact bag on request.

Q: Is the chain strap adjustable, and can I wear it crossbody?
A: The gold‑tone chain is detachable but not adjustable. This piece has a measured strap drop of about 56 cm, which suits shoulder or crossbody wear for many. On taller frames it may sit a touch high; some owners use chain extenders or an alternative strap for extra length.

Q: How secure is the closure and what’s the interior layout?
A: The Félicie features an envelope flap with a press‑stud (snap) closure. Inside, there’s a main compartment with an interior slip pocket. Two removable inserts are included—a zipped pouch for valuables and a card holder—so you can organise smaller items and increase security when commuting.

Q: How many slots does the card holder have, and how are the inserts used?
A: The dedicated card holder typically provides 8 card slots plus a central slip, working as a slim wallet on its own. The zipped pouch is ideal for notes, coins and small essentials. Both inserts can be used inside the bag or carried separately for ultra‑minimal outings.

Q: What is Monogram Empreinte leather, and how should I care for it?
A: Monogram Empreinte is supple, embossed calfskin—luxurious yet durable for everyday use. Care tips: avoid rain and oils; be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim; wipe with a soft, dry cloth; condition smooth areas very sparingly with a suitable neutral product (test first); and store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag with the chain tucked and padded to prevent imprints.

Q: What does “Marine Rouge” mean?
A: Marine Rouge refers to a navy Monogram Empreinte leather accented with red details, often with a coordinating red textile lining. Care is the same as other Empreinte colours, though it’s wise to watch for colour transfer onto the lighter red accents.

Q: Is the Félicie Pochette still produced, and how can I find this colour?
A: The Félicie remains part of Louis Vuitton’s line in various materials; availability of specific colours and trims varies by season and region. Marine Rouge was released in past seasons and is most easily found on the pre‑loved market.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located, and what does “SP4198” indicate?
A: Louis Vuitton bags carry an interior heat‑stamp (e.g., “LOUIS VUITTON Paris” and the country of origin). For pieces produced approximately 2007–2021, a date code helps indicate factory and timing. “SP” denotes a French factory code; “4198” decodes to the 49th week of 2018. From around March 2021 onward, Louis Vuitton began embedding microchips instead of visible date codes, so newer items may not have a physical code.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag and what accessories are included?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, date code/microchip era and overall construction. For this piece, the included accessories are the detachable chain strap, detachable zipped pouch and detachable card holder. If you need any extra photos or confirmations, just ask.
