Louis VuittonSpeedy 30 Epi Bag

Q: What fits inside the Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 Epi?
A: The Speedy 30 is a spacious handheld bag perfect for daily use. It comfortably holds a large smartphone, a continental wallet, a cosmetics pouch, keys, a compact umbrella and a small water bottle. It can also accommodate a standard iPad or e-reader and a paperback book. Please refer to the Measurements (30 × 22 × 18 cm) on this page or contact us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Does the Epi Speedy have an exterior pocket?
A: Yes, unlike the classic Monogram or Damier canvas Speedys, the Epi leather version features a convenient slip pocket on one exterior side. It is perfect for keeping small items like a travel card or parking ticket accessible.

Q: Is this bag structured or will it sag?
A: Epi leather is thicker and more rigid than coated canvas, so this bag holds its shape beautifully and is less prone to sagging. While it may soften slightly with age and use, it generally maintains a structured silhouette even when not fully stuffed.

Q: Does it come with a shoulder strap?
A: This classic Speedy 30 is designed as a handheld bag with dual rolled leather top handles. It does not include a shoulder strap and does not have D-rings to attach one. It is meant to be carried by hand or in the crook of the arm.

Q: What is Epi leather and how should I care for it?
A: Epi leather is a pigmented, textured cowhide known for its durability and water resistance. It features a distinctive horizontal grain. To care for it, simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface dirt. Avoid harsh chemicals, oils or abrasive surfaces that could damage the finish. Store the bag upright in a breathable dust bag to preserve its shape.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag features a secure top zip closure. This specific piece also comes with a padlock (listed under "Accessories") for added security.

Q: What is the condition of this specific vintage piece?
A: This item is in Very Good condition with light traces of use. The exterior and interior are well-preserved, and the gold-tone hardware is shiny with light scratches. Please refer to the detailed condition rating and photos on this page for a closer look.

Q: Where can I find the date code?
A: On vintage Epi Speedys, the date code is typically located inside, either on a leather tab or stamped near the interior pocket. The date code for this item is VI 0916, indicating it was manufactured in France in early 1996.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
