Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Taiga Ural Pilot Case?
A: With approximate dimensions of 33 × 42 × 13 cm, it is designed for professional essentials. It comfortably carries A4/Letter documents and folders, a 13–15-inch laptop (most 16-inch models also fit without a bulky sleeve), a tablet, compact charger, notebook/diary, pens and a slim pouch. Capacity can vary slightly by era and interior layout; refer to our photos and Measurements or ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit my laptop securely, and do you recommend a sleeve?
A: Yes—most 13–16-inch laptops fit flat inside. For daily commuting, we recommend using a slim protective sleeve to prevent corner wear and to separate the device from other items. The two main internal compartments help organise tech and paperwork, while the exterior slip pocket offers quick-access storage for tickets or documents.

Q: How secure is the S‑lock closure? Do I need a key to open it?
A: The S‑lock provides reliable flap security for everyday use. It opens via the front press mechanism; a key is only required if you choose to lock the case. This specific item is sold without accessories (no key included), so we recommend not engaging the lock. For additional security, keep valuables in an inner compartment and carry the case upright when travelling.

Q: What is the interior layout of this piece?
A: This vintage Ural Pilot Case features two main internal compartments for documents and devices, plus smaller pockets for organising accessories, and one external slip pocket under the flap for quick‑access papers. Configurations can vary by production year; our listing photos show the exact layout of this bag.

Q: Does it come with a shoulder strap?
A: The Ural Pilot Case is a classic top‑handle briefcase. This specific piece has a single top handle (approx. 4 cm drop) and does not include a shoulder strap. If you prefer shoulder or crossbody carry, we’re happy to suggest compatible after‑market strap solutions that won’t mark the leather.

Q: What material is Taiga leather and how should I care for it?
A: Taiga is Louis Vuitton’s deep‑dyed, textured cowhide noted for its structured look and scratch resistance. Care is straightforward: keep it away from heavy moisture and oils, wipe with a soft dry cloth after use, and condition smooth areas sparingly with a high‑quality neutral leather product (always test on a discreet spot first). Store the briefcase upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag, and avoid prolonged contact with dark denim or abrasive surfaces to minimise colour transfer and scuffs. Protect hardware during storage to reduce hairline scratches and tarnish.

Q: Is the Ural Pilot Case still produced?
A: The Taiga Ural Pilot Case is generally discontinued and is now found primarily on the pre‑loved market. Availability can vary by colour and production year; this example is in Black Taiga leather with brushed silver‑tone hardware.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic Louis Vuitton briefcases feature a heat‑stamp (e.g., “LOUIS VUITTON Paris”) and a country of origin; this piece is labelled Made in France. Older items typically include a date code discreetly inside, while Louis Vuitton transitioned to embedded microchips in more recent years. Placement and format vary by era—contact us if you’d like close‑up photos or help locating/reading the code for this exact bag.

Q: What condition is this specific vintage piece in?
A: Overall Good condition with light traces of use inside and out. The hardware shows tarnish and scratches consistent with age and gentle wear. Please review our detailed photos and condition notes to see the exact state of the leather, lining and hardware.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: This listing is for the briefcase only (no accessories). Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, date code/microchip (where applicable) and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
