Q: Is this Louis Vuitton V Rhinestone Necklace authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials is it made from? Are the stones diamonds and is the metal solid gold?
A: Louis Vuitton fashion jewellery typically uses plated base metal (often brass) in gold‑tone and/or silver‑tone finishes, with glass rhinestones/crystals. The stones are not diamonds and the metal is not solid gold unless explicitly stated. Please review the photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm the specific composition of this piece.

Q: What is the length and is it adjustable? Where will the ‘V’ pendant sit?
A: Our listing shows a Perimeter Necklace of approximately 95 cm and the size is noted as adjustable. If you’d like the precise wearable range (minimum–maximum) and the pendant drop, message us and we’ll measure it for you so you can gauge where the ‘V’ will sit on your neckline.

Q: How does it fasten?
A: This necklace features a safety pin style clasp closure. Please refer to the close‑up photos to see the exact mechanism, and contact us if you’d like guidance on operation or confirmation of any components.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on Louis Vuitton jewellery?
A: Authentic LV jewellery often carries engravings such as “Louis Vuitton” and a country of origin (commonly France or Italy), sometimes with additional codes depending on the era. Placement varies (on the pendant, clasp or a tag). Our high‑resolution photos show any markings present on this piece.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin? Is it nickel‑free?
A: Vintage and fashion jewellery may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider applying a clear barrier product on contact points or wearing the piece over clothing. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: How should I care for the rhinestones and plated finish?
A: Keep it dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and hand sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth; use a dry cotton bud to lift dust around stone settings. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store individually in a pouch/box, out of direct sunlight and humidity, to preserve sparkle and colour.

Q: Will the plating tarnish or the stones dull over time?
A: Plated finishes can show light surface wear or minor colour fade at high‑contact points, and rhinestones can dull if exposed to moisture or cosmetics. Proper care—keeping it dry, wiping after wear and storing carefully—helps maintain appearance. Any notable patina or wear is disclosed in the photos and condition notes; this piece is listed in Very Good Condition.

Q: Can it be resized, extended, repaired or replated?
A: A jeweller can often add a short extender, adjust length slightly, replace a clasp, reset/replace rhinestones and perform gentle replating. Louis Vuitton’s service for fashion jewellery is at their discretion and varies by boutique. We don’t offer in‑house modifications but can recommend reputable specialists on request; note that alterations may affect originality and resale value.

Q: Where was this piece made, what is included and can I return it?
A: Our listing notes France as the country of origin. Only accessories specifically shown or listed are included; this piece is offered with no accessories. Returns are accepted in line with our policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility and timeframes, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
