Q: What size is this Omega De Ville, and how does it wear on the wrist?
A: This watch has a 35mm case, which gives it a classic, refined dress-watch look. It wears neatly under a shirt cuff and suits buyers who prefer traditional proportions rather than an oversized watch.

Q: Is this an automatic or a quartz watch?
A: This is a quartz wristwatch, so it is battery powered rather than automatic. Quartz movements are known for being convenient, slim, and highly accurate for everyday timekeeping.

Q: How long does the battery usually last?
A: For this Omega quartz calibre, battery life is typically around two years under normal use. When the battery starts to run low, Omega quartz watches often show an end-of-battery-life indicator through the seconds hand jumping in larger intervals, signalling that it is time for replacement.

Q: Does this watch have a date function?
A: Yes. This Omega De Ville reference 4510.31.00 includes a date display, making it a practical choice if you want a dress watch with a useful everyday complication.

Q: Is it suitable for water exposure?
A: This model is rated to 30 metres, which is best understood as splash resistant for daily wear such as hand washing or light rain. For a vintage watch, it is sensible to avoid swimming or showering with it unless it has recently passed a professional water-resistance test.

Q: What is the crystal made from?
A: The watch features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Sapphire is valued because it is far more resistant to everyday surface scratches than standard mineral glass or acrylic.

Q: What wrist size will it fit, and can the bracelet be adjusted?
A: According to the product information, the bracelet fits a wrist up to 18 cm and includes two extra links. This gives some flexibility for adjustment, and a watchmaker can usually size the bracelet for a neater fit.

Q: What is included with this watch?
A: According to the product information, this watch comes with a box and spare links. Please note that the box is described as damaged.

Q: What condition is the watch in?
A: The product information describes the overall condition as very good, with light traces of use. The hardware is described as shiny with light scratches, while the internal condition is also listed as very good.

Q: How often should a vintage Omega quartz watch be serviced?
A: Omega generally recommends periodic maintenance, with water-resistance checks about once a year and a full service every 5 to 8 years depending on use and condition. For a vintage quartz model, timely battery changes and proper servicing are especially important to help protect the movement.
