OmegaSeamaster 39mm Black Dial 2014 Watch

Q: What movement does this watch use and what is the power reserve?
A: It is powered by Omega’s automatic Co‑Axial calibre 8500, a certified chronometer with a transparent case back. The movement offers approximately 60 hours of power reserve, so it can be left off the wrist for a couple of days and keep running.

Q: Is it safe to swim with the Aqua Terra 150M?
A: Yes. The Aqua Terra line is rated to 150 metres, making it suitable for surface swimming and snorkelling. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before water exposure, and avoid hot showers, saunas, or sudden temperature changes, which can compromise seals over time. For any vintage or pre‑owned watch, a pressure test is recommended before frequent water use.

Q: Is this the anti‑magnetic “Master Co‑Axial/Master Chronometer” version?
A: No. This 2014 reference uses the pre‑Master Co‑Axial calibre 8500 and is COSC‑certified. It does not carry the later 15,000‑gauss Master anti‑magnetic rating introduced on subsequent movements. Normal care around strong magnets (e.g., speakers, MRI equipment) is advised.

Q: How accurate should it be?
A: As a COSC chronometer, the movement is tested to run within roughly −4 to +6 seconds per day under laboratory conditions. Actual performance can vary with wear and servicing history.

Q: Is the case 38.5 mm or 39 mm?
A: Omega lists this model as 38.5 mm across the case (excluding the crown). Many retailers round this to 39 mm, which is how we state it on this page. On the wrist, it wears as a versatile mid‑size sport‑elegant watch.

Q: Will the bracelet fit my wrist, and can it be adjusted?
A: This bracelet currently fits up to approximately 17 cm and comes with two extra links as noted in the product information. Additional fine sizing can be done by adding/removing links; we can assist with sizing on request.

Q: Can I fit other straps to this watch?
A: Yes. The model uses a 19 mm lug width, so most 19 mm leather, rubber, or fabric straps will fit. Have spring bars checked for correct length and thickness to ensure secure fitment.

Q: How do I set the time and date safely?
A: Unscrew the crown, wind to start if needed, then pull to the appropriate positions for date and time. As with most mechanical watches, avoid quick‑setting the date when the hands indicate a time close to midnight, and always screw the crown back down afterwards to maintain water resistance.

Q: How often should I service it?
A: Omega generally recommends a full service about every 5–8 years, with water‑resistance checks more frequently if the watch is used in water. Service intervals depend on use and environment; signs such as running fast/slow or reduced power reserve indicate it may be time for maintenance.

Q: What is included and how do you authenticate this watch?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information for this item. For this piece, no additional items such as box or cards are included, and two extra links are provided as noted. Every watch at A Retro Tale is carefully inspected and authenticated by our specialists using multi‑point checks of materials, movement, stamps and finishing; we stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
