Please note that the majority of our items are vintage and therefore have tales to tell unless stated otherwise. Therefore, please look at pictures, descriptions and measurements provided as they give you the best idea of the story this item has to tell.

* Please note that when you buy a vintage product, the dimensions may vary slightly from a new one depending on previous care and storage.

Q: What is Saffiano leather?
A: Saffiano is Prada’s distinctive textured leather, featuring a heat-embossed crosshatch pattern and waxed finish. It has a structured feel and is known for its durability. This bag is crafted from black Saffiano leather with gold-tone hardware.

Q: What condition is this Prada Saffiano Boston Bag in?
A: This pre-owned bag is rated Very Good Condition. The exterior has light marks and scratches throughout the material, the interior shows light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: What are the dimensions, and will this bag fit a laptop?
A: The bag measures approximately 27 cm wide, 13 cm high and 11 cm deep. Its compact size is better suited to small everyday essentials than a laptop. Device compatibility has not been confirmed; compare your item’s measurements with the bag’s dimensions and allow for the lining and zip opening.

A: Yes. The product information lists a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap. You can also carry the bag by its dual rolled leather handles. Shoulder or crossbody comfort will depend on the strap adjustment and your preferred fit.

Q: Which accessories are included?
A: The product information lists a padlock, key, clochette and shoulder strap. A clochette is the small leather cover used to hold the key. A dust bag, box and authenticity card are not listed as included.

Q: How does the bag close, and what pockets does it have?
A: The bag has a top zip closure and black jacquard lining with one internal zipped pocket for organising smaller belongings. Protective studs on the base help reduce direct contact with surfaces.

Q: Is Saffiano leather resistant to scratches and water?
A: Prada describes Saffiano leather as resistant to scratches and water, but this does not mean it is scratch-proof or waterproof. This particular bag already has light exterior marks and scratches. Avoid abrasive surfaces and prolonged exposure to moisture.

Q: How should I clean and store this bag?
A: Gently remove surface dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and seek advice from Prada or a specialist leather-care professional before treating stains. Store the bag away from direct sunlight, heat and damp, ideally in a breathable protective fabric bag, with light stuffing to help maintain its shape.

Q: Has this bag been authenticated?
A: Yes. The product information states that its authenticity has been checked and verified by A Retro Tale’s experts, who have over 10 years of experience in vintage and luxury bags.

Q: Where was this Prada Saffiano Boston Bag made?
A: The country-of-origin information for this particular bag states Italy.
