RolexAir-King 34mm 1999 Full Set Watch

Q: What defines the Rolex Air-King Ref. 14000?
A: Produced in 1999, this Reference 14000 is a superb example of the modern classic Air-King. It features a 34mm stainless steel Oyster case, a smooth polished bezel, and a striking blue dial with baton hour markers. Significantly, this model bridges the gap between vintage and modern by featuring a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

Q: What movement powers this timepiece?
A: This watch is equipped with the robust Rolex Calibre 3000 automatic movement. It is a self-winding mechanism known for its durability. You will notice the dial is marked "Precision", indicating that while it is a highly accurate timekeeper, it predates the COSC certification that became standard for the Air-King line in later years.

Q: Does this model have a sapphire crystal?
A: Yes. The Reference 14000 was the generation that introduced the sapphire crystal to the Air-King collection, replacing the acrylic glass found on the older Reference 5500. This upgrade offers excellent scratch resistance and clarity.

Q: Is the watch water-resistant?
A: The Oyster case was originally designed to be water-resistant to 100 metres. However, as this is a vintage piece from 1999, we cannot guarantee the seals remain watertight without a recent pressure test. We advise treating the watch as splash-resistant only and avoiding swimming or showering with it.

Q: Will this watch fit my wrist?
A: The 34mm case is a classic, understated size that fits a variety of wrists and is often considered unisex by today's standards. This specific timepiece fits a wrist circumference of up to 20cm. The stainless steel Oyster bracelet offers a comfortable and secure fit.

Q: What is the condition of this specific watch?
A: This timepiece is rated as Very Good condition. It displays light traces of use appropriate for its age, including scratches on the case and bracelet. Please review the images to appreciate its character.

Q: What is included with the purchase?
A: This is a highly collectible "Full Set". It includes the watch, the original box, outer box, certificate, and booklets, making it an excellent choice for collectors or as a gift.

Q: Is there a warranty?
A: Yes, A Retro Tale provides a 12-month warranty covering the mechanical function of the movement. This ensures peace of mind regarding the watch's performance.
