RolexDatejust 26mm 1988 Watch

Q: What size is this Rolex Datejust, and how does it wear?
A: This watch has a 26 mm case, giving it a classic, compact vintage Datejust look. It is well suited to smaller wrists or anyone who prefers a more understated fit than modern larger watch sizes.

Q: Will the bracelet fit my wrist?
A: According to the product information, the bracelet fits a wrist of up to 18 cm. If your wrist is larger than this, you may need additional links or an adjustment by a qualified watch specialist.

Q: What materials is this watch made from?
A: This reference features a stainless steel and yellow gold case with a matching Jubilee bracelet, along with a fluted yellow gold bezel. This two-tone configuration is one of the most recognisable Datejust combinations.

Q: Does this watch have a diamond dial?
A: Yes. According to the product data, this specific watch has a champagne dial with diamond hour markers, giving it a refined and dressy appearance while keeping the classic Datejust design.

Q: Is this an automatic watch?
A: Yes. The Datejust line is an automatic, self-winding mechanical watch. If it has stopped running after not being worn, it can be wound via the crown before being worn again.

Q: Is the watch water-resistant?
A: The Datejust family is designed with Rolex’s Oyster case and is known for water resistance when the crown is properly screwed down. However, with any vintage watch from 1988, we recommend avoiding water exposure unless the watch has been pressure-tested and approved by a professional watchmaker very recently.

Q: How do I set the date and time?
A: The watch is set using the winding crown. As with most Datejust models, the crown is first unscrewed before winding or adjusting the time and date, then screwed back down afterwards. If you are unfamiliar with vintage luxury watches, we recommend having a professional show you how to operate it correctly.

Q: What condition is this watch in?
A: This piece is listed in very good condition with light traces of use. The internal condition is described as very good, and the hardware is noted as shiny with light scratches, which is consistent with careful wear over time.

Q: What is included with the watch?
A: According to the product information, this watch comes with no product information included. If you would like clarification on what is or is not present before purchase, it is best to confirm with the retailer directly.

Q: Is a 1988 Rolex Datejust a good everyday watch?
A: For many collectors, yes. The Datejust is valued for its timeless design, wearable size, date display, and versatile two-tone styling. As a vintage watch, it is best treated with a little more care than a modern daily watch, especially regarding water exposure, shocks, and servicing intervals.
