Saint LaurentFigaro Chain Necklace

Q: Is this Saint Laurent Chain Necklace authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What material is it made from? Is it solid gold?
A: This necklace is crafted from gold‑tone metal featuring a classic Figaro link design. It is fashion jewellery and not solid gold. Please review the close‑up photos and contact us if you need confirmation on specific composition details.

Q: What are the measurements and how will it fit?
A: The necklace has a perimeter of approximately 52 cm and a width of 0.3 cm. At this length, it typically sits comfortably around the collarbone or upper chest (matinee length) for most wearers. We recommend measuring your neck or a similar chain to ensure the perfect drop for your style.

Q: How does the necklace fasten?
A: It secures with a lobster clasp fastening, offering a reliable and easy‑to‑use closure. Check the close‑up images to see the specific clasp style on this vintage piece.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I look for?
A: Vintage Saint Laurent pieces typically feature a signature stamp, such as “Saint Laurent,” “Saint Laurent Paris,” or the iconic “YSL” logo, often found on a metal hang tag near the clasp or on the clasp itself. Our photos depict any hallmarks present on this specific item.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Vintage fashion jewellery often involves plated base metals which may contain nickel. If you have metal sensitivities, we recommend wearing it over clothing or testing it for comfort. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone finish?
A: To preserve the gold‑tone plating, keep the necklace dry and avoid direct contact with perfume, lotions, and water. Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing and store it separately to prevent scratches.

Q: What condition is it in and what is included?
A: This necklace is in Very Good Condition with signs of wear commensurate with its vintage nature. It includes no accessories unless specifically shown. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please refer to our Returns page for full details.
