Q: What does Intrecciato mean?
A: Intrecciato is Bottega Veneta’s signature woven leather technique. It is one of the house’s most recognisable design elements and gives the bag its soft, artisanal look while keeping the style understated and timeless.

A: This piece has dual handles with an approximate handle drop of 16 cm. It is designed to be carried by hand or in the crook of the arm, and this specific bag does not include a shoulder strap.

Q: Does the bag close securely?
A: Yes. This bag features a zip closure, which helps keep your belongings secure, and it has a fabric lining inside.

Q: What is the condition of this item?
A: The overall condition is very good for a vintage piece. The exterior shows scuffing on the corners and cracking on the handle edges, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: Is Intrecciato leather durable?
A: Yes, but like most soft woven leather, it should still be treated with care. Intrecciato is known for its craftsmanship and flexibility, though vintage examples can show wear over time, especially at the corners, handle edges and areas exposed to friction or overfilling.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Intrecciato bag?
A: Store it in a cool, dry place, ideally lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape. Avoid overfilling, prolonged direct sunlight, heavy rain, rough surfaces and colour transfer from dark clothing. For routine care, gently wipe with a soft dry cloth and consult a leather specialist for deeper cleaning or repairs.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: No extra product information is included with this piece. Everything supplied with the item is reflected in the Product information on this page, and for this bag there are no additional included items.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Bottega Veneta bag?
A: At A Retro Tale, each item is reviewed by specialists using a combination of craftsmanship, leather quality, weave consistency, hardware, stamps and overall construction. With vintage Bottega Veneta, a visible serial number is not always present, so authentication is never based on just one detail.
