Q: What is the chain length and how does it sit?
A: The chain measures approximately 40–44 cm with two fastening points, so it wears as a short necklace that sits around the base of the neck. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for the exact length for this piece.

Q: Is this necklace solid gold?
A: Vintage Céline fashion jewellery is typically crafted from a gold-plated base metal (often brass) rather than solid gold. This piece has a gold-tone finish as described in the product information.

Q: What clasp does it have?
A: It features a spring ring closure for secure fastening.

Q: Is the chain adjustable or can I make it longer?
A: Yes, it can be worn at approximately 40 cm or 44 cm using the built-in fastening points. If you prefer extra length, most jewellers can add a small extender chain.

Q: Will the colour or plating wear over time?
A: As with all gold‑plated jewellery, natural wear can occur with friction, moisture, perfumes and lotions. Careful use and proper storage will help preserve the finish for longer.

Q: How should I clean and care for it?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and mild soap if needed, then pat dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cloths, chemical dips, alcohol, toothpaste or ultrasonic cleaners. Store separately in a pouch or box away from humidity.

Q: Are there maker’s marks on vintage Céline jewellery?
A: Many vintage pieces are stamped with signatures such as “Celine”, “Celine Paris”, and sometimes “Made in Italy” or “Made in France”. Stamps vary by era and model.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
A: People with metal sensitivities (especially nickel sensitivity) may react to some fashion jewellery alloys. If you are sensitive, consider wearing it over clothing or consult a jeweller about barrier coatings and suitable metals.

Q: What is included with my purchase?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section. For this item, no additional items are listed.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this piece?
A: Every item is vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, hallmarks and branding details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to share further details on request.
