Shoulder strap

Q: What are the bag’s dimensions, and what can it hold?
A: It measures approximately 35 cm wide × 27 cm high × 11 cm deep. These dimensions suggest room for everyday essentials such as a phone, purse, keys and a small pouch, although usable space depends on the interior layout and how you pack.

Q: Will this tote fit a laptop?
A: Laptop fit has not been confirmed for this particular bag. Compare your device and its sleeve with the bag’s 35 × 27 × 11 cm measurements, allowing for a smaller opening and usable interior. Avoid forcing a device inside or overloading the bag.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder?
A: This tote is a shoulder-bag style with leather-threaded chain straps. The listed strap measurement is 35 cm, but it is not specified whether this represents strap length or drop, so shoulder clearance cannot be confirmed from that measurement alone.

Please note that the majority of our items are vintage and therefore have tales to tell unless stated otherwise. Therefore, please look at pictures, descriptions and measurements provided as they give you the best idea of the story this item has to tell.

* Please note that when you buy a vintage product, the dimensions may vary slightly from a new one depending on previous care and storage.

Q: What colour and material is this Chanel tote?
A: This Chanel Caviar Quilted Chain Tote Bag is brown, with a quilted caviar leather exterior and leather-threaded chain straps. Its country of origin is listed as France.

Q: What condition is this pre-owned bag in?
A: It is rated Good Condition. The exterior shows wear on the corners and leather chain strap. The interior is in good condition with light traces of use, while the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: What items are included with the bag?
A: The product information lists a serial number tag. A box, dust bag and authenticity card are not listed, so please do not assume these are included.

Q: Can the serial number confirm the bag’s age?
A: The serial number is recorded as illegible, so it cannot be used to establish a production date for this particular piece. No confirmed production year is provided in the product information.

Q: Can I use this caviar leather tote in the rain?
A: Do not treat it as waterproof. Chanel advises protecting leather bags from moisture and prolonged exposure to sunlight. If it gets wet, carefully blot it dry with an absorbent, non-pilling cloth rather than rubbing.

Q: How should I clean and store this Chanel tote?
A: Gently remove surface dust with a soft, dry cloth and avoid cleaning products that could alter the leather’s finish. Do not overfill the bag. Store it upright in a suitable protective pouch, lightly supported with tissue paper, and wrap the chains to prevent them from marking the leather. Keep it away from prolonged sunlight and moisture.
