ChanelCC Chocolate Bar Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel CC Chocolate Bar Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 27 × 15 × 7 cm and a compact interior with one zip pocket and one slip pocket, it comfortably holds a large smartphone, a small wallet or cardholder, keys, and a few small cosmetics. A standard 500 ml water bottle will not stand upright; a very slim mini bottle may fit horizontally depending on shape.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or removable?
A: This model has a single flat shoulder strap with an approximate 13 cm drop. It is not adjustable and not designed to be removed.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody?
A: No. The short strap drop makes it a shoulder or hand-carry bag rather than a crossbody.

Q: Is this considered vintage and when was it produced?
A: Yes, it is vintage. The serial number 6973465 indicates a production period around 2000–2002 for Chanel bags with 7‑digit codes from the 6‑series.

Q: Does a Chanel bag made in Italy count as authentic?
A: Yes. Chanel manufactures handbags in both France and Italy. This piece is stamped Italy, which is fully consistent with authentic production.

Q: What product information is included with this item?
A: As listed in the product information, this bag comes with a dust bag, an authenticity card, and a serial number tag. If an item is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How does the Chocolate Bar style differ from a Classic Flap?
A: Chocolate Bar pieces feature square, bar‑like quilting. They were made in several formats, including flap versions with a turn‑lock and zip‑top pochette/shoulder styles like this one. This specific bag has a top zip closure, gold‑tone hardware, and a single shoulder strap.

Q: Will a large smartphone (e.g., iPhone Pro Max) fit?
A: Yes. Large smartphones fit along the width with room for small daily essentials. If your phone has a very bulky case, capacity may be reduced—pack flat items to optimise space.

Q: How should I care for the quilted leather and hardware?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth; avoid overfilling to preserve shape; keep away from moisture and prolonged sunlight; store upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag; and wrap the strap to prevent imprints. Avoid harsh cleaners; consult a professional for deep cleaning or restoration.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is checked by in‑house experts using multi‑point verification of materials, stitching, stamps, hardware, and the serial number. Chanel moved from serial stickers/cards to an internal microchip system from 2021 onwards; as a 6‑series piece, this bag correctly features a vintage serial sticker and authenticity card.
