Q: Is this Chanel Chain Bracelet authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What is it made from? Is it solid gold?
A: Vintage Chanel fashion jewellery is typically crafted from plated base metal finished in a gold‑tone. This bracelet is described as gold‑tone with chunky quilted links and a spring ring clasp—it is not solid gold. If you’d like us to confirm any aspect of the composition for this exact piece, just ask and we’ll provide close‑up details.

Q: What are the size and measurements? Will it fit my wrist?
A: The listed wearable perimeter is approximately 17 cm, with a width of about 2.5 cm and a depth around 0.5 cm. For best fit, measure your wrist snugly and compare to the 17 cm perimeter; as a guide, 17 cm corresponds to an inner diameter of roughly 5.4 cm. If you’d like the precise inner diameter or gram weight, we’re happy to measure it for you.

Q: How does the clasp work and is it secure?
A: It fastens with a spring ring clasp—press the lever to open, attach to the end link, and release fully to close. Spring rings are secure for everyday wear; avoid hard impact and check the clasp is fully seated before wearing.

Q: Is it adjustable or can it be resized?
A: This style is not designed with an extender and cannot be permanently resized without altering the original construction. Minor shortening by clasping to a neighbouring link may be possible depending on the link geometry; contact us and we’ll advise based on this exact bracelet.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on a vintage Chanel bracelet?
A: Most vintage Chanel bracelets feature an oval or round plaque stamped CHANEL, often with “Made in France/Italy,” and—on many eras—a season/date code and letter (e.g., P for Spring, A for Autumn). Placement and format vary by collection and year. Our close‑up photos show any stamps present on this piece.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin? Is it nickel‑free?
A: Fashion jewellery alloys and platings may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider using a clear barrier product on contact points or wearing the bracelet over a sleeve. Discontinue wear if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone plating?
A: Keep it dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray, hand sanitiser and cleaning chemicals. Put jewellery on last after cosmetics, avoid prolonged humidity/sunlight, and after wear gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store it individually in a pouch/box to prevent scratches and preserve the finish.

Q: Can Chanel or a jeweller service, polish or replate it?
A: Boutiques may offer service at their discretion for vintage pieces, and a competent jeweller can often tighten a clasp or perform gentle replating. Any modification can affect originality and resale value—ask us for reputable specialists if needed.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return it?
A: This bracelet is in Good Condition with light vintage wear possible unless noted otherwise. Accessories are not included unless specifically shown or listed—this item comes with no accessories. Returns are accepted under our standard policy; please ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
