Q: Will my tablet fit this case?
A: Please compare your device’s dimensions to our internal clearance of approximately 26 × 21 × 0.5 cm. Although Chanel labels this size as 12-inch, real-world fit depends on measurements rather than screen size. Many slim tablets around 10–11 inches fit comfortably; larger or thicker devices may not.

Q: Can I use it with a cover, keyboard or pencil holder attached?
A: Slim back shells usually fit, but folio keyboards and chunky bumpers typically exceed the 0.5 cm depth. For the best experience, use your tablet bare or with a very slim shell and always check total thickness against our measurements.

Q: Does it provide drop or impact protection?
A: This is a refined leather folio designed for everyday carry and surface scratch protection. It is not a rugged or shockproof case. If you need impact resistance, consider using a separate protective sleeve inside your bag.

Q: How does the built-in stand work?
A: The folio cover can be folded to prop the tablet for viewing or typing. For stability, use on a flat, non‑slip surface and avoid overextending the fold. As with most leather folios, the stand is intended for light desk use rather than rough environments.

Q: What leather is this and how should I care for it?
A: It is Chanel’s grained calfskin, often referred to as caviar leather. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth; avoid harsh cleaners, alcohol-based wipes, oils and excessive moisture. Keep away from prolonged sunlight and humidity, and store in a breathable dust bag with light stuffing to help maintain shape. Conditioning should be minimal and only with leather‑safe products.

Q: Will this fit a 12-inch laptop or MacBook?
A: No. Most 12-inch laptops exceed the 26 cm width and the 0.5 cm depth allowance. This piece is intended for tablets and slim documents, not laptops.

Q: Can I use it as a document pouch or clutch?
A: Yes. It neatly holds A5 notebooks, passports and slim documents. A4/US Letter papers are taller than 21 cm and will not fit without folding.

Q: What does the serial number 15688941 indicate?
A: The 15‑series serial points to production around 2011. Serial numbers help estimate the period of manufacture but are not proof of authenticity on their own; they must be considered alongside materials, stamps and construction details.

Q: What items are included with this piece?
A: This item comes with a box, authenticity card and serial number tag. Everything included is listed under the product information section on this page; if something is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate Chanel pieces?
A: Every item is vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of leather, stitching, hardware, brand stamps and serial codes, supported by specialist tools and references. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to share additional product information on request.
