ChanelPatent Chocolate Bar Bag

Q: What are the dimensions and what typically fits inside?
A: Approximate dimensions are 28 × 15 × 7 cm with a strap drop of about 32 cm. It comfortably fits a large smartphone, small wallet or cardholder, keys, cosmetics, and slim sunglasses. An A5 notebook can fit; a full-size tablet or water bottle is generally too large.

Q: Is the chain strap adjustable or removable, and can it be worn crossbody?
A: The bag features a single chain‑link shoulder strap that is not adjustable or designed to be removed. With the approximate 32 cm drop, it is best worn on the shoulder or handheld rather than crossbody.

Q: What closure and hardware does this piece have?
A: This specific bag has a flap top with a magnetic closure and silver‑toned hardware, with a black leather‑lined interior for a sleek finish.

Q: What is the leather, and how should I care for it?
A: It is crafted from black patent leather with a high‑shine finish. To help preserve the look, avoid overfilling, limit prolonged contact between contrasting colours, keep away from heat and direct sunlight, and wipe with a soft, dry cloth only. Store lightly padded in a breathable dust bag, with the chain tucked to prevent imprints.

Q: Does patent leather suffer from colour transfer or stickiness over time?
A: Patent leather can be prone to dye transfer if left against contrasting materials, and vintage patent may feel tacky if exposed to heat or humidity. Prevent this by storing the bag separately in a cool, dry place and avoiding contact with dark textiles. If issues occur, consult a trusted leather care professional rather than using solvents at home.

Q: When was this bag produced based on the serial number 6753700?
A: The 7‑digit serial beginning with a 6 indicates early 2000s production, typically within the 2000–2002 range. Bags from this era feature a serial sticker inside and a matching authenticity card.

Q: Is the Chocolate Bar line still in production?
A: The Chocolate Bar design rose to prominence in the early 2000s and is no longer produced by the brand. Pieces are now found on the pre‑owned market only.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This piece comes with an authenticity card and an interior serial number tag. Everything included is listed in the product information section on this page.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and serial numbers by our in‑house experts. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional photos or details on request.

Q: Is this suitable for day‑to‑evening wear?
A: Yes. The sleek patent finish, east‑west silhouette and compact interior make it versatile for both daytime outings and evening occasions, carrying just the essentials with polished ease.
