Q: What typically fits inside the 30 Montaigne bag (approx. 24 × 17 × 5 cm)?
A: Everyday essentials such as a smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, lipstick, and a slim sunglasses sleeve fit comfortably. Due to the 5 cm depth, bulky items (water bottles, large pouches) and most tablets will not fit. Please refer to the Measurements on this page if you pack differently.

Q: Can the strap be adjusted for shoulder and crossbody wear?
A: Yes. The leather strap is adjustable to an approximate drop of 29–52 cm (as listed in the product information), allowing both shoulder and crossbody wear for most heights. As a general guide, many find a 50–55 cm drop comfortable for crossbody.

Q: What closure and interior layout does it have?
A: It features a flap top with a gold‑tone metal CD clasp. Inside, there is black leather lining with one zipped pocket and one slip pocket to organise small essentials.

Q: How should I care for the leopard calf‑hair (hair‑on‑hide) exterior?
A: Brush occasionally with a very soft brush in the direction of the hair, keep away from moisture, oils and solvents, and avoid prolonged sunlight or heat. If lightly soiled, blot (do not rub) with a barely damp, clean cloth, then allow to air dry. Store stuffed to hold shape in a breathable dust bag, away from rough or abrasive surfaces.

Q: Will the hair‑on‑hide shed or go bald over time?
A: Some gradual wear or minor shedding can occur on high‑friction points (corners, flap edges, areas that rub against clothing). Minimise by rotating use, avoiding rough fabrics, and brushing gently in the hair direction only.

Q: Is the strap removable?
A: The standard leather strap on the 30 Montaigne is designed for adjustability rather than full removal. If you wish to use an alternative strap, ensure compatible hardware and avoid excessive tension to protect the leather and fittings.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information. For this listing, only the bag is included. If an item such as a dust bag or box is not listed there, it is not included. Feel free to contact us for confirmation.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this Dior bag?
A: Each piece is vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, logo stamps, and model‑specific details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional photos or details on request.

Q: Do Dior bags have authenticity cards or serial numbers?
A: Dior traditionally uses an internal date code rather than a plastic authenticity card tied to the item. Depending on model and year, some modern pieces may also integrate an NFC microchip. For specifics on this bag, please refer to the product information or ask our team.
