Christian DiorStreet Chic Uptown Eyelet Bag

Q: What are the dimensions and what fits inside?
A: Approx. 35 × 18 × 11 cm. It comfortably carries a long wallet, smartphone, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch and a compact umbrella. A slim tablet up to about 11 inches can fit; a 13-inch laptop will not. A 500 ml water bottle fits best laid horizontally. Capacity depends on how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Can it be worn on the shoulder?
A: The handle/strap drop is about 12 cm, so it is primarily a handheld bag and sits comfortably in the crook of the arm. It is not designed for crossbody use and does not include a long strap or dedicated strap attachments.

Q: Which collection and era is this piece from?
A: It is from Dior’s early-2000s Street Chic line (the Uptown style), a Galliano-era design noted for its eyelet-detailed hardware and sleek top-handle silhouette.

Q: What materials and features does it have?
A: Brown pebbled and smooth leather with brass-tone eyelet hardware, dual rolled leather handles, a zip-top closure, Dior logo fabric lining and an internal zip pocket.

Q: What is included with my purchase?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section. For this listing, no additional items are noted there. If a dust bag, card or box is not listed in product information, it is not included.

Q: How would you describe the condition?
A: Pre-owned. Exterior: good with light scuffing at the corners and marks on the bottom. Interior: very good with light signs of use. Hardware: surface scratches and some dullness consistent with age and wear. Please review the photos for a closer look.

Q: Is this bag authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously authenticated by our in‑house experts through multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, stamps and hardware. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional photos or details on request.

Q: Does it have a date code and where would it be?
A: Many Dior bags from this era carry a date code stamped on the back of a small interior leather tab beneath the “Christian Dior Paris” heat stamp. Formats vary by year, but often follow a pattern of two numbers, two letters and four numbers; the letters indicate the factory/country and many pieces from this line were produced in Italy. If you would like us to locate and photograph the code for this piece, please contact us.

Q: How should I care for the leather and hardware?
A: Wipe the leather with a soft, slightly damp cloth and allow it to air dry; avoid harsh cleaners or alcohol-based wipes. Condition sparingly with a neutral, pH‑balanced leather cream when needed. For brass-tone hardware, use a dry microfibre or jeweller’s cloth only—avoid metal polishes. Store stuffed to maintain shape, in a breathable dust bag, away from direct sunlight and colour-transfer risk.
