Q: What is the length of this necklace?
A: The necklace has a perimeter of 58 cm. On most people, this is considered a longer necklace length and typically sits lower than a standard collarbone chain, making it easy to wear on its own or layered with shorter pieces.

Q: Is this an authentic Georg Jensen necklace?
A: Yes. At A Retro Tale, all items are carefully checked for authenticity by our in-house experts. Vintage Georg Jensen jewellery is typically identified through a combination of craftsmanship, design details, and maker’s marks or silver hallmarks where present.

Q: What condition is this necklace in?
A: This piece is listed in Very Good Condition. It shows light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches consistent with careful wear and age.

Q: Does the necklace come with any extras?
A: No. According to the product information, this item comes with no accessories.

Q: Will silver tarnish over time?
A: Yes. Silver naturally develops tarnish over time depending on wear, storage conditions, and skin chemistry. This is normal for silver jewellery and can usually be improved with gentle, appropriate polishing.

Q: How should I clean and care for this necklace?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft jewellery polishing cloth and store it separately in a lined box or soft pouch to help minimise scratches and tarnish. Avoid harsh chemicals, perfume, lotions, water exposure, and abrasive cleaners, especially on vintage pieces.

Q: How should I store the necklace when not in use?
A: Store it individually rather than mixed with other jewellery. Keeping silver pieces separate helps reduce surface scratching, and storing them in a dry, enclosed pouch or box can help slow tarnishing.

Q: Is a 58 cm necklace good for layering?
A: Yes. A 58 cm necklace works especially well for layering because it sits longer than many everyday chains. It can create a balanced look when paired with shorter silver necklaces or pendants.

Q: Is this necklace suitable for everyday wear?
A: Yes, provided it is worn with normal care. Georg Jensen silver jewellery is known for timeless design and wearability, but as this is a vintage piece, we recommend avoiding rough handling and removing it before showering, exercising, or sleeping.

Q: What makes a vintage Georg Jensen silver necklace special?
A: Georg Jensen is celebrated for Danish design, sculptural forms, and high-quality silver craftsmanship. Vintage necklaces are especially sought after for their elegant lines, collectible appeal, and the character they develop over time.
