Q: What does Louis Vuitton size 70 mean on a belt?
A: Louis Vuitton belt sizes are in centimetres and refer to the distance from the buckle pin to the middle (third) hole. A size 70 therefore measures 70 cm to the middle hole, which is approximately 27.6 inches. For the best fit, measure your waist or an existing belt from the pin to the hole you use most and match that measurement to the size.

Q: What waist range does a size 70 usually cover?
A: LV belts typically have five holes spaced about 2.5 cm apart. As a guide, a size 70 generally adjusts around 65–75 cm (roughly 25.6–29.5 inches). Always measure where you plan to wear the belt (natural waist vs. hips) to confirm.

Q: Is this LV Initiales belt reversible?
A: Many LV Initiales models are made reversible, but Epi leather versions like this vintage black strap are typically single‑sided. If a belt is reversible it is clearly described as such and photos show both sides; the images for this piece show a single black Epi strap.

Q: Can I add an extra hole if needed?
A: Louis Vuitton boutiques generally do not add holes to belts. If you require additional holes, a reputable cobbler can punch them cleanly to match the existing spacing. For other issues, LV’s Care Services can advise on repair options; fees and feasibility depend on an in‑person assessment.

Q: How should I care for Epi leather and the gold‑tone LV Initiales buckle?
A: Wipe Epi leather with a soft, dry cloth and avoid solvents, oils and prolonged sunlight or humidity. Store the belt flat or gently rolled in a cool, dry place. The buckle can develop hairline scratches with normal wear; buff lightly with a clean microfibre cloth and avoid abrasive polishes.

Q: How do you authenticate this belt?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously authenticated by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of leather, stitching, heat stamps and hardware. Historically LV used date codes; in more recent years many items moved to embedded microchips. Because chips are not user‑scannable, expert evaluation remains essential. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This listing shows no additional items in the product information section. Everything included is always listed there; if a dust bag or box is not mentioned, it is not included.

Q: Where was this belt made?
A: Spain, as indicated in the Country of Origin information and the heat‑stamp on the strap.

Q: Can I wear a size 70 at the hips as well as the waist?
A: A size 70 is generally ideal for the natural waist on smaller sizes. If you plan to wear the belt lower on the hips, you will usually need a larger size. Measure at the exact position you intend to wear it and compare to the size guide.
