Louis VuittonMonogram Pochette Florentine Belt Bag

Q: What are the measurements and what typically fits inside?
A: The Pochette Florentine is a compact belt bag at approximately 16 × 10 × 4 cm. It comfortably holds small essentials such as a passport, cardholder, keys and lipstick. A compact smartphone up to roughly 15 × 7.5 cm can fit depending on the case. For the best result, compare your items to the measurements on this page before purchase.

Q: How is it worn and is the belt removable?
A: The pouch is designed to slide onto its slim leather belt via two rear loops for wear at the waist or hips. The belt detaches so you can also carry the pouch as a small clutch or place it inside a larger bag. Some owners thread a slim strap through the rear loops to wear it on the shoulder or crossbody, though results vary by strap and body frame.

Q: What belt size does this piece fit and is it adjustable?
A: This example includes a leather belt strap of about 90 cm with multiple snap settings for adjustment. As with all belt bags, fit varies by how high or low you wear it and by layering. If you plan to use your own belt, ensure it is a slim style that fits the rear loops; comparing to the photos and measurements is recommended.

Q: Is the Pochette Florentine still produced by Louis Vuitton?
A: No—this model is long discontinued and is now found on the pre‑loved market. Availability of original belts or spare parts can be limited and is assessed case by case by Louis Vuitton’s after‑sales teams.

Q: What does the date code FL0012 mean on this bag?
A: FL indicates manufacture in France. For the early‑2000s date code format, the first and third digits indicate the month and the second and fourth digits indicate the year. Therefore, 0012 decodes to January 2002. Note that date codes support dating but are not proof of authenticity.

Q: What materials is it made from?
A: Signature Monogram coated canvas with natural Vachetta leather trim and gold‑tone hardware, plus a beige microfibre (Alcantara) lining. The canvas is durable and wipe‑clean; Vachetta is untreated and will develop a natural patina over time.

Q: How should I care for the canvas, Vachetta leather and lining?
A: Wipe the coated canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Keep Vachetta away from water, oils and alcohol‑based products; expect gradual darkening (patina). Store loosely stuffed, out of direct sunlight and humidity. The microfibre lining can be gently lint‑rolled; avoid harsh cleaners. For professional care or repairs, Louis Vuitton offers after‑sales services subject to assessment and fees.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The front flap features a magnetic snap closure that keeps small essentials secure during normal wear. For best performance, avoid overfilling the pouch and ensure the flap is fully engaged before wearing.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the Accessories section on this page. If an item such as a dust bag or box is not listed, it is not included. Feel free to contact us if you would like us to confirm the contents for you.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this piece?
A: Every item we sell undergoes thorough, multi‑point checks by our in‑house experts, including materials and canvas, stitching, hardware, heat stamps, date codes and overall construction. We stand by the authenticity of all items and are happy to provide additional details on request.
