Louis VuittonReverse Monogram Trunk Clutch Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Reverse Monogram Trunk Clutch?
A: With dimensions of approximately 22 x 15 x 6 cm, it comfortably holds a large smartphone, a compact wallet or cardholder, keys, lipstick, AirPods, and a few small cosmetics. A passport usually fits. Continental (long) wallets, small water bottles and tablets generally do not. Please refer to the Measurements on this page or contact us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will my iPhone Pro/Max fit?
A: Most Pro/Max phones fit, though very bulky cases can make the fit snug due to the structured trunk silhouette and S‑lock. Compare your device’s dimensions with the Measurements provided, or ask us to perform a quick fit check for this item.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or removable? Can I wear it crossbody?
A: Yes—the shoulder strap is detachable and adjustable. This piece shows an approximate strap drop of 53–58 cm, suitable for shoulder or high crossbody wear. Remove the strap to carry it as a clutch. If you’d like advice on how it sits on you, just ask and we’ll help.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The Trunk Clutch features an S‑lock inspired by LV’s heritage trunks, offering good day‑to‑day security. Align the flap before engaging the lock and avoid forcing it. For commuting or travel, keep the bag upright and consider placing small valuables in the interior slip pocket or a compact zip pouch inside.

Q: What is the interior layout?
A: This piece has a single main compartment lined in beige Malletage quilting with one internal slip pocket. Our listing photos show the exact configuration of this bag.

Q: What materials and hardware does this piece have, and where is it made?
A: It features Reverse Monogram coated canvas with black leather trim, gold‑tone hardware, and a beige Malletage quilted lining. The interior stamp indicates Made in France. Our photos and description show the precise finishes of this item.

Q: What is “Reverse Monogram”?
A: Reverse Monogram is a modern take on LV’s classic canvas, using inverted colour tones (typically a lighter background with darker Monogram motifs) for a contrasted, contemporary look, while retaining the durability and easy care of coated canvas.

Q: How should I care for the coated canvas, leather trim and hardware?
A: Keep the bag away from moisture, oils and prolonged sunlight, and be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim—especially onto lighter areas of the canvas. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth; condition the black leather trim very sparingly with a high‑quality neutral product after testing on a discreet spot. Store lightly stuffed, upright, in a breathable dust bag, and place a soft cloth between the strap and the leather to minimise imprints. Hardware can develop fine hairline scratches with normal use—avoid abrasive surfaces.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic Louis Vuitton bags feature an interior heat‑stamp (e.g., “LOUIS VUITTON Paris” and country of origin). Older pieces typically include a date code on a small leather tab or along an interior seam; from around 2021 LV transitioned to an embedded microchip instead of a visible code. Placement and format vary—contact us for close‑up photos of this item.

Q: Is the Trunk Clutch still produced?
A: Availability can vary by season and collection; certain configurations (like Reverse Monogram) are most reliably found on the pre‑loved market. We’re happy to advise on current boutique options and comparable styles.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Included items are listed under “Accessories.” For this piece, we note a shoulder strap. If an accessory isn’t mentioned there, it isn’t included—feel free to ask us to confirm. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and date code/microchip. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
