Saint LaurentYSL Logo Rhinestone Brooch

Q: Is this Saint Laurent YSL Logo Rhinestone Brooch authentic?
A: Yes—every piece offered by A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point, in‑house authentication by brand specialists. We review hallmarks, construction, materials and provenance before listing.

Q: What materials is it made from?
A: Typically a metal alloy base with rhinestone (crystal) embellishment and a plated finish. Exact composition can vary by model and year; please refer to the photos and description or contact us for specifics.

Q: How big and heavy is the brooch?
A: See the Measurements section on this page for dimensions. If anything is missing, just ask our team and we’ll measure and weigh the piece for you.

Q: How does it fasten, and will it damage delicate fabrics?
A: It secures with a pin and locking clasp. We recommend pinning through thicker weaves (blazers, coats, denim, knits) and testing a discreet area first on delicate fabrics (silk, fine wool) to avoid pulls.

Q: Can I wear it in different ways?
A: Yes—style it on lapels, knitwear, hats, scarves or handbags. Some people also slide the pin through ribbon or use a brooch‑to‑pendant converter to wear it on a chain; support the weight on finer chains.

Q: Are the rhinestones original, and what if one is missing?
A: Any notable stone loss or replacements will be shown in photos and noted in the Condition section. We don’t modify items post‑listing, but we can suggest reputable jewellers for stone setting if desired.

Q: How should I care for and store the brooch?
A: Keep away from moisture, perfume and hairspray; wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear; store separately in a pouch to avoid scratches; avoid ultrasonic or chemical cleaners on plated metal and rhinestones.

Q: Is this piece vintage?
A: Many YSL brooches we offer are vintage. If the era is known it will be stated on the page; contact us if you’d like our specialist’s view on approximate dating for this specific item.

Q: Does it come with the original box or dust bag?
A: Included accessories are always listed on the product page. If no branded packaging is specified, we’ll ship it in A Retro Tale protective packaging.

Q: Is it suitable for all genders?
A: Absolutely—brooches are a unisex jewellery accessory and can be styled on menswear and womenswear alike.
