Tiffany & CoPink Sapphire by the Yard Silver Necklace

Q: What are the main details of this necklace?
A: This vintage Tiffany & Co. necklace features a sterling silver chain with a round pink sapphire pendant and a spring ring clasp closure.

Q: How long is the necklace and where will it sit?
A: The necklace perimeter is approximately 41 cm. On most people, that is a short necklace that sits around the collarbone area, though the exact fit will vary slightly from person to person.

Q: What size is the pink sapphire pendant?
A: The gemstone measures approximately 0.5 x 0.5 cm with a depth of about 0.2 cm, giving the necklace a delicate and minimal look.

Q: Is this a good necklace for everyday wear?
A: Yes, this style is known for its simple, easy-to-wear design and works beautifully on its own or layered with other fine necklaces. As this is a vintage piece, gentle everyday wear is recommended.

Q: Does the pendant stay centred when worn?
A: Fine pendant necklaces on delicate chains can sometimes shift slightly during the day. A small amount of movement is normal, especially with lightweight and minimal designs such as this one.

Q: Will the sterling silver tarnish over time?
A: Sterling silver can tarnish with exposure to moisture, perfume, cosmetics, chlorine and household chemicals. Regular wear, careful storage and gentle cleaning help keep the silver looking bright.

Q: How should I care for the silver and pink sapphire?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft cloth after wear and store it in a dry place. Avoid bleach, chlorine, perfume, cosmetics and abrasive surfaces. If needed, clean the metal carefully and treat the gemstone gently to help protect both the finish and the stone.

Q: Does Tiffany & Co. authenticate jewellery?
A: Tiffany states that it does not offer an authentication programme. This item has instead been authenticated by A Retro Tale’s in-house experts before listing.

Q: What is included with this necklace?
A: This item includes a dust bag. If any other packaging or extras are not listed in the product information, they are not included.

Q: What condition is this necklace in?
A: It is listed in Very Good Condition. The hardware is shiny with light scratches, which is consistent with careful previous use.
