Q: What typically fits inside the Valentino Rockstud Alcove Bag?
A: With dimensions approximately 28 × 26 × 4 cm, it suits daily essentials such as a large smartphone, slim long wallet, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch, and a slim e‑reader or iPad mini. It does not comfortably fit A4 documents or a laptop. Capacity varies with how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody as well as on the shoulder?
A: Yes. It comes with a detachable and adjustable canvas shoulder strap with an approximate drop of 49 cm, allowing both shoulder and crossbody wear for most heights. You can fine‑tune the drop for your preferred fit.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag features a VLogo Signature magnetic top closure. Combined with the structured shape and two interior compartments, it keeps contents neatly in place for everyday use. For very small items, we recommend storing them in a pouch inside the bag.

Q: Are the Rockstuds sharp or likely to catch on clothing?
A: Rockstuds have defined edges for the signature look, so we suggest a little care around delicate fabrics like silk or open‑weave knits. Normal day‑to‑day wear with denim, wool, and cotton is typically fine.

Q: What materials and finish does this piece have?
A: This item is crafted from black grained calf leather with ruthenium‑finish hardware and signature Rockstuds. It is lined in black leather and made in Italy.

Q: How should I care for grained calf leather and the hardware?
A: Wipe leather with a soft, slightly damp cloth and allow it to air dry. Avoid excessive moisture, oils, alcohol‑based sanitisers, and prolonged direct sunlight. Store the bag lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag, and avoid rubbing the studs against other items to minimise surface marks on the finish.

Q: Will the magnetic closure affect my bank cards or electronics?
A: Contactless/chip cards and phones are generally unaffected, but traditional magnetic‑stripe cards can be sensitive to strong magnets. Keep such cards in a wallet compartment away from the magnetic clasp to be safe.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything supplied with the bag is listed under the product information on this page. For this piece, a detachable shoulder strap is included. If a branded dust bag, box, or paperwork is included, it will be stated there—please contact us if you need clarification.

Q: What is the condition of this pre‑owned piece?
A: External condition: very good with light traces of use. Internal condition: good with light use and a few scratches. Hardware: shiny with light scratches. Please see photos for the most accurate view.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, stamps, and hardware. We stand behind the authenticity of all pieces and are happy to provide more details on request.
