Q: What typically fits inside the Classic Extra Mini Single Flap?
A: As an ultra‑compact bag (approx. 14 × 10 × 4 cm), it comfortably carries a slim cardholder, keys, lipstick, compact mirror, notes/coins and small earbuds. Capacity is tight; pack flat items and avoid bulky cases to maximise space.

Q: Will my smartphone fit?
A: Most modern smartphones are unlikely to fit in this extra‑mini size. Smaller devices may fit without a case depending on their exact dimensions, but larger models (e.g., Pro/Max sizes) generally will not. Please refer to the Measurements on this page and compare with your phone.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody?
A: Yes. The interwoven chain-and-leather strap has an approximate 54 cm drop on this piece, so it can be worn on the shoulder or as a high crossbody on many frames. Fit will vary by height and build.

Q: Is the strap adjustable?
A: The chain is non‑adjustable. You can temporarily shorten it by looping the chain inside the bag. When storing, wrap or pad the chain to prevent impressions on the leather and avoid long‑term tension on the flap.

Q: What is the difference between a single flap and a double flap?
A: Minis like this are single flap by design. Single flaps are lighter and slightly roomier for their size, while larger Classic Flaps often have a double flap that adds structure and extra compartments.

Q: Is the Classic Extra Mini still produced by Chanel?
A: The extra‑mini size is not part of Chanel’s current standard line‑up and is mainly found on the pre‑owned market, which is why pieces like this are considered sought‑after and collectible.

Q: How should I care for black lambskin and gold‑tone hardware?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, non‑pilling cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to light, heat and humidity, and keep away from oils, perfumes and sanitisers to minimise colour transfer and hardware discolouration. Store upright in a breathable dust bag, loosely stuffed, with the chain wrapped to prevent marks.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, stamps and hardware. Chanel bags from the mid‑1980s onward carry a serial number sticker that originally corresponded to an authenticity card; vintage pieces may no longer retain all accessories. Everything included with this item is listed under Accessories.

Q: How does the capacity compare to a Wallet on Chain (WOC)?
A: The Extra Mini’s boxier compartment typically accommodates a small cardholder and keys more easily than many WOCs, but overall it holds a similar amount and less than Mini Square/Rectangular sizes.
