Q: Can I wear it crossbody? Is the strap adjustable?

Q: How secure is the closure and what’s the interior like?
A: It features a Mademoiselle turn‑lock closure for everyday security. Inside you’ll find black fabric lining and one internal zipped pocket for valuables. Our listing photos show the exact layout of this piece.

Q: What is the Mademoiselle lock?
A: The Mademoiselle lock is Chanel’s rectangular twist‑lock clasp without the interlocking CC logo—famously associated with the Reissue 2.55 and seen on some vintage styles. It offers a refined, understated look compared with the CC turn‑lock.

Q: How should I care for crackled patent leather and silver‑tone hardware?
A: Patent leather is coated for its glossy shine but remains delicate. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid alcohol, acetone or harsh cleaners that can cloud or dull the finish. Keep the bag away from excessive sunlight, heat and humidity, and be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim and dyed fabrics. Store upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag, and pad or tuck the chains to prevent pressure marks and hairline scratches on the hardware.

Q: Is dye transfer or stickiness an issue with patent leather?
A: Dye transfer from dark fabrics (especially denim) is a known risk on patent leather; prevention is best—minimise friction and avoid prolonged contact with colour‑bleeding materials. Patent finishes can also become tacky if exposed to heat/humidity; allow good airflow, keep away from radiators/windows, and avoid plastic wraps. If stains or stickiness occur, we recommend a reputable luxury leather specialist—DIY aggressive methods can worsen clouding or marks.

Q: Where was this bag made and what does the serial number indicate?
A: This piece is labelled Made in Italy and bears serial number 10012980. Chanel serial numbers beginning with “10” correspond to the 2005–2006 production period, placing this bag in a sought‑after mid‑2000s vintage era.

Q: Is this model still produced?
A: This configuration is considered vintage and is typically no longer available new in Chanel boutiques. Similar styles are found through trusted pre‑loved retailers and collectors.
