Hermès35 Birkin Vache Liegee Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Hermès Birkin 35?
A: The 35 cm Birkin is a roomy day bag. With measurements of approximately 35 × 25 × 18 cm, it will generally hold daily essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses case, small water bottle, cosmetics pouch and a tablet, with space left for a few extras. It is a practical choice if you carry more than the basics.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder?
A: No, this Birkin 35 is designed as a top-handle bag. This piece has dual rolled handles with an approximate handle drop of 10 cm and no shoulder strap, so it is best carried in the hand or on the arm rather than over the shoulder.

Q: What is Vache Liegee leather like?
A: Vache Liegee is a structured grained calfskin with a firm feel and a refined vintage character. It is appreciated for its shape retention and durability, giving the Birkin a more architectural look than softer Hermès leathers. Because it is quite structured, it can feel heavier and less slouchy than softer alternatives.

Q: Is the Birkin 35 a good everyday size?
A: Yes, the Birkin 35 is widely considered one of the more practical classic Birkin sizes for everyday use, especially if you need extra room for work or day-to-day essentials. That said, it is larger and can become quite weighty when full, so it suits those who prefer a spacious carryall over a compact handbag.

Q: Will a laptop fit inside?
A: A tablet or A4 documents should fit more comfortably than a laptop. Some slim 13-inch laptops may fit depending on their exact dimensions and sleeve, but fit can vary because of the bag’s structured shape and opening. We recommend comparing your device carefully with the measurements listed on this page before purchasing.

Q: What does the Square G stamp mean?
A: The Square G blind stamp indicates the year of production. For Hermès bags, a G inside a square corresponds to 2003, which places this piece firmly in the vintage category.

Q: What product information is included with this bag?
A: This item includes the padlock, keys and clochette. Everything included with the bag is listed under the product information on this page; if something is not listed there, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How should I care for vintage Vache Liegee leather?
A: Store the bag in a dry, temperate place away from direct sunlight, humidity and strong heat. Keep it loosely filled to help maintain its shape, and avoid overloading it. For cleaning, use only gentle care appropriate for luxury leather and avoid unsuitable off-the-shelf treatments. For deeper maintenance, professional spa or specialist leather care is the safest option.

Q: What is the interior layout of this bag?
A: This Birkin 35 is lined in tonal leather and features one internal zip pocket and one slip pocket. The layout is ideal for separating smaller essentials while keeping the main compartment open and spacious.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This piece is listed in very good condition overall. The exterior shows slight wear to the handles and some scuffing to the bottom corners, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches.
