HermèsCollier de Chien Cuff

Q: What is the Hermès Collier de Chien cuff?
A: The Collier de Chien, often called the CDC, is one of Hermès’ most recognisable cuff designs, known for its bold pyramid studs and central ring detail. It has a structured, statement look and is designed to sit prominently on the wrist.

Q: What size is this cuff, and how do I know if it will fit me?
A: This piece has a bracelet perimeter of approximately 14.6 cm and a width of approximately 4 cm. For the best fit, compare these measurements with a cuff or bracelet you already wear comfortably, or measure the part of your wrist where you intend to wear it. As with many structured cuffs, fit can feel more secure than a flexible bracelet.

Q: Is the Collier de Chien cuff comfortable for daily wear?
A: Many wearers choose the CDC as an everyday statement piece, but comfort depends on your preferred fit and styling. Because it is a wide cuff, it will feel more substantial than a slim bracelet. It is best suited to those who enjoy a structured, fashion-forward look rather than a barely-there piece.

Q: Can this cuff be adjusted?
A: The Collier de Chien style is typically designed with an adjustable closure, but the overall fit still depends on wrist size and personal preference. We recommend checking the measurements in the product information carefully, as a cuff of this width should sit securely without feeling overly tight.

Q: What condition is this item in?
A: This cuff is rated Very Good condition. It shows light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. This means it presents very well overall while still showing gentle signs of previous wear consistent with a pre-owned luxury item.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This item comes with a box and dustbag. Everything included is listed in the product information, so if another accessory is not mentioned there, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How should I care for a Hermès cuff like this?
A: To help preserve it, keep it away from water, perfume, cosmetics, direct heat and prolonged sunlight. After wear, wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth and store it in its dustbag when not in use. It is also best to avoid rubbing it against rough surfaces or stacking it tightly with hard jewellery that may mark the hardware.

Q: Is the Collier de Chien cuff easy to style?
A: Yes. The black colour and iconic hardware make it a versatile statement bracelet that works well with both casual and more polished outfits. It can be worn alone for impact or paired with slimmer bracelets if you prefer a layered look, though many collectors wear it solo because of its bold width.

Q: Is this an authentic Hermès item?
A: Yes. At A Retro Tale, every item is checked for authenticity by specialists before being offered for sale. Pre-owned Hermès pieces are assessed through construction details, materials, hardware, stamps and overall craftsmanship to ensure they meet authenticity standards.
