Louis VuittonMonogram Speedy 40 Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 40?
A: With approximate measurements of 40 x 29 x 19 cm, this is a roomy Speedy size that works well for daily essentials plus extras such as a full-size wallet, phone, cosmetic pouch, water bottle, book, light knitwear and other day-to-day items. Many buyers also consider the 40 a practical option for short trips or as a travel carryall. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Is the Speedy 40 better for everyday use or travel?
A: The Speedy 40 is generally best suited to buyers who prefer a spacious bag. It can be used every day if you carry a lot, but it is especially popular as a travel, weekend or overnight-style bag thanks to its larger capacity.

Q: Does this bag come with a shoulder strap?
A: No. This particular bag is designed to be carried by hand with its dual handles and does not come with a shoulder strap. The handle drop is approximately 10 cm.

Q: What materials and details does this bag have?
A: This bag features Louis Vuitton Monogram coated canvas with leather trim, brass hardware, dual handles, a canvas lining, one internal pocket and a zip closure. It is a vintage piece made in France.

Q: What does the date code SP0975 mean?
A: The date code indicates production in France, and this code format corresponds to July 1995. As with all Louis Vuitton bags from this era, the code is a manufacturing reference rather than a unique serial number.

Q: Does the date code alone prove authenticity?
A: No. A date code is only one part of the authentication process and should not be used on its own to confirm authenticity. Professional authentication should also consider materials, construction, hardware, stamps and overall consistency.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: This item is listed in Very Good condition with light traces of use. The interior and exterior are both noted as Very Good, while the hardware remains shiny with light scratches and some green oxidation consistent with age and vintage wear.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This item comes with no accessories, as stated in the product information. If you would like to confirm exactly what is included before purchase, it is always worth checking the product information carefully.

Q: How should I care for vintage Monogram coated canvas and leather trim?
A: Wipe the coated canvas gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it afterwards. Avoid overfilling the bag, heavy rain, direct heat and prolonged sun exposure. Because the leather trim is natural leather, it can darken and develop patina over time. Store the bag loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag to help maintain its shape.
