Q: How big is the Chanel CC Caviar Messenger Bag, and what might fit inside?
A: It measures approximately 22 cm wide, 23 cm high and 6 cm deep. It is suited to everyday essentials such as a phone, keys and a small wallet, although fit depends on the size of your belongings. Check the measurements against anything you plan to carry.

Q: Can I wear this bag across the body?
A: It is categorised as a crossbody bag, and the listed strap measurement is 38 cm. How it sits will depend on your height and preferred fit. The product information does not specify whether that measurement is the strap drop or its full length, so please ask us if you need that detail before purchasing.

Q: What is caviar leather?
A: Caviar is Chanel’s name for a textured, pebbled leather. Its grain can make minor marks less noticeable than on a smooth leather, but it still needs careful handling.

Q: When was this bag made?
A: Its recorded serial number begins with 2, which the product information associates with the period 1991–1994. This is an estimated production window, not a confirmed exact year.

Q: What condition is this particular bag in?
A: It is listed in Very Good Condition. There are minor scuffs on the exterior corners and light traces of use inside. The hardware remains shiny but has light scratches and some tarnishing.

Q: What comes with the bag?
A: A serial number tag is listed in the product information. An authenticity card, box and dust bag are not listed as included; please contact us if you would like to confirm the contents before ordering.

Q: How is the bag authenticated?
A: A Retro Tale states that its experts review details such as construction, stitching and hardware when authenticating its items. A serial number is one detail to consider, rather than proof of authenticity on its own.

Q: How should I care for this vintage bag?
A: Gently wipe it with a soft cloth and avoid harsh cleaning products, prolonged sunlight and moisture. If it gets wet, carefully dry it with an absorbent, non-pilling cloth. Avoid overfilling it and store it upright with the strap protected to help preserve its shape.

A: The country-of-origin information for this piece states France.
