Q: What are the main features of this bag?

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Please refer to the product information for the full inclusion list. For this item, the serial number tag is noted. If an authenticity card, box or dust bag is not listed in the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: What does the serial number tag tell me about the bag?
A: The serial number tag dates this vintage Chanel bag to approximately 2000 to 2002. As with vintage Chanel pieces, the serial number tag is a useful dating detail, but authentication should always consider the bag as a whole.

Q: How should patent leather be cared for?
A: Patent leather has a glossy finish but should be handled gently. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth, avoid harsh products, keep it away from prolonged humidity and direct sunlight, and store it upright with tissue inside to help maintain its shape.

Q: Is patent leather a delicate material?
A: Yes. Patent leather can show fingerprints, surface marks and colour transfer more easily than some matte leathers. It is best to keep it away from dark or printed materials for long periods and to avoid rubbing against rough surfaces.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Chanel bag like this?
A: Authenticity should never be judged by one detail alone. Vintage Chanel bags are typically assessed through a combination of construction, quilting, hardware, lining, closure details and serial information. At A Retro Tale, all items are carefully vetted for authenticity before being offered for sale.
