Q: What size is this Chanel Classic Medium Double Flap Bag?
A: This is the medium size, measuring approximately 25.5 cm wide, 16 cm high, and 7 cm deep. It is one of Chanel’s most iconic and practical flap bag sizes, offering enough room for daily essentials while keeping a refined, structured silhouette.

Q: What usually fits inside a Chanel Classic Medium Double Flap Bag?
A: The medium size typically fits a phone, card holder or compact wallet, keys, lipstick, and a few small daily essentials. Because this is a double flap design, the interior is more structured than an open tote, so capacity is elegant rather than oversized. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The leather-and-chain strap allows for classic shoulder wear, and the listed strap drop is approximately 24/43 cm. Many collectors wear this style with the chain doubled for a shorter shoulder carry or singled for a longer drop. Crossbody wear can depend on height and personal preference, but this size is most commonly worn on the shoulder.

Q: Is the medium double flap a good everyday size?
A: Yes, it is widely considered one of the best all-round Chanel sizes. It works well from day to evening, holds more than the smaller flap styles, and still keeps the elegant proportions that make the Classic Flap so sought after.

Q: What product information is included with this bag?
A: This item includes an authenticity card and serial number tag. Everything included with the bag is listed under the product information section on this page.

Q: What does the serial number tell me about the bag?
A: The serial number begins with 2, which corresponds to production from 1991 to 1994. That places this piece within Chanel’s early vintage period, a detail many collectors look for when shopping for classic double flap bags.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: This bag is rated Very Good Condition. The exterior shows corner wear, the interior shows light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. This gives a clear picture of gentle vintage wear while preserving strong overall presentation.

Q: Does a medium double flap feel heavy?
A: Compared with smaller Chanel flap bags, the medium double flap can feel a little more structured and slightly heavier because of its double-flap construction and chain strap. Most people still find it very comfortable for everyday essentials, but it is not designed to carry bulky items.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Chanel leather bag like this?
A: To help preserve the leather and structure, avoid overfilling the bag, keep it away from prolonged sunlight and moisture, and wipe it gently with a soft cloth only. When not in use, store it upright in a pouch or dust bag and lightly stuff it to help maintain its shape. As with most vintage leather bags, careful storage will help minimise wear over time.
