Q: What is this Chanel Jewellery Bag designed for?
A: It is a structured vanity-style jewellery case in quilted lambskin with a zip-around closure and padlock. It was conceived to organise rings, earrings, slim bracelets and small watches in a compact, carry-by-handle format, rather than as a shoulder bag.

Q: What typically fits inside at 17 × 11 × 7.5 cm?
A: Several rings and stud earrings, a few delicate chain necklaces (coiled), a slim bracelet or bangle, and a small watch. Chunky statement necklaces or wide bangles may not fit comfortably. Capacity always depends on how you arrange your pieces—please refer to the product photos and Measurements on this page.

Q: Does it come with a shoulder strap or D-rings for one?
A: No. This model is hand-held with a single top handle and no built-in strap attachments. Some owners demonstrate aftermarket conversions online, but we do not recommend modifying the item as it can stress the handle/hardware and may affect future resale value.

Q: Is the padlock functional and how should I use it?
A: Yes. The padlock secures the zipper pulls. Keys are included with this item. Close the zip fully before locking, avoid overfilling the case, and only lock it when the keys are accessible to prevent inconvenience.

Q: What year is this piece from based on the serial number 15592078?
A: Chanel 15-series serial numbers indicate production around 2011. As with all Chanel, the serial helps date the piece but should be read alongside construction and branding details.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section of this page. For this piece, that includes a dust bag, authenticity card, serial number tag, padlock and keys.

Q: How should I care for the lambskin exterior and suede-lined interior?
A: Keep away from prolonged light and humidity. Wipe lambskin gently with a soft, dry cloth; to reduce the look of light marks, buff very lightly in small circles. Do not use harsh cleaners or oils. Store upright in a breathable dust bag with tissue support. For the suede lining, use a clean suede brush lightly and avoid placing oily or damp jewellery directly inside.

Q: Is the hardware silver or gold, and how should I maintain it?
A: This item features silver-toned hardware. Expect minor surface marks with normal use; wipe with a clean microfibre cloth only. Avoid jewellery cleaners or chemicals on the metal as these can affect the surrounding leather.

Q: Can I use this as a travel jewellery case?
A: Yes. Its compact size fits easily in most hotel safes and carry-on bags. For airport security, consider packing empty and keeping jewellery in small pouches, placing items back into the compartments after screening to protect the suede lining.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this item?
A: Every piece is vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and serial/date codes, corroborated with market and reference data. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional details on request.
